Me likey!
I have a confession to make. I've been knitting for almost 18 months, done a lot of "solid things" like bowls for felting etc, but have yet to sew up a finished garment and I'm scared! I have a hard time convincing myself I can do anything new (like a new skill). Yet I have taken to knitting like a duck to water.
Can anyone point me to clear instruction or give me tips please? I'm halfway through the 3nd sleeve of a cardi with just the neckband still to go and I really want to start finishing things.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -

Your 3nd sleeve? Now that *is* dedication to sewing-up avoidance! ;-)
I strongly dislike sewing, and that includes making up knitted garments. I am currently experimenting with converting a cross-over front baby jacket that I love into a top-down seamless object, all in the name of having nothing to sew up once the knitting bit is finished :-D
But unfortunately there comes a time in every knitter's life when sewing bits of knitting together can no longer be avoided...and here are a couple of links which are a very useful start for when that time comes :-)

LOL! That's about the level of my sleep deprived brain at the moment! I shall refrain from having a go until I have had more sleep.
Thank you so much for the links, that's very kind. Lots of people do it, so I figured it can't be that difficult, but I was scared to start. I will use the info to actually finish this cardi and will proudly post the results!I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
Agreeing with those Knitty links, mattress stitch is the way to go for neatly seamed garments. I hate sewing up but knowing how to do mattress stitch means I can do it neatly and quickly and get a really good finish.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member #398 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts :T
