Thanks a mill Orkney, :A I know it's just cos I overdid it at the weekend.
I have turned the heel but am about to pick up stitches to knit the foot - am just afraid I will mess it up! At least if it does go wrong, not many people look at my feet!Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far!
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

I think sock knitting is so addictive, esp with all these new self patterning wools, and it does not take long to do, plus very little sewing involved.

This is my first post so please forgive me if its in the wrong place. My dd is expecting a baby on 20th november. For some reason known only to herself she wants me to knit a baby blanket as a sort of family heirloom! I can cast on,knit and purl and cast off but thats it.Being economy driven I have bought some wool off E bay,5 x 100g baby double knitting wool. The lady I bought it from has sent me a pair of size 8 needles and that is as far as I have got!My idea is for a pram cover, I want to knit a biggish square and then sew a cotton backing to it and maybe stuff it with ----well something! So please can someone help me? for a start how many stitches do I cast on? Can anyone help me? thanks.0

I think what might have happened is that you hadn't selected a word before you click on the globe. All you need to do is double click on a word to select it, then you click on the globe button. When you click on the little globe icon does a new small box open that says "Please enter the URL of your link"? That is where you put the web address.
ok but how do people manage to do 2 links- I`m still struggling with one!* goes and sulks*!
Thank you for all your help - I`ll get there eventually!0 -
Thankyou for your quick reply,I will have a good look and start tommorrow!0

Hello knitty peeps, I'm an avid knitter, expecially of socks! I just finished a pair this evening in some bargain Regia I bought from Kemps wool shop a while ago for about £1.30 a ball. They are mammoth size 12's for a Christmas pressie, good job the yardage was good!0 -

Thanks for the tip. I have washed it with towels and then with sheets and duvet cover- will wash a third time with some jeans:D
I want to make a bag I think- not too sure, it was one of those - ooh that looks nice, will buy it and decide later - moments:D I get a few of those.
I am about half way through another twirly scarf for xmas box using some twilleys freedom spirit in a purpley shade- it's knitting up really nicely. Have passed on the pattern to 4 people now:) Am afraid I have to try and do marking with a 2 year old around tomorrow day time as I have spent too long tonight knitting- 2 hours at sewing group and then another 3 at home, have truly got the bug:T
Forgot to say those socks are lovely OS! I will start on socks when have done everyone a scarf I think!Cross Stitch Challenge Member ?Number 2013 challenge = to complete rest of millenium sampler.0 -
Hello
Just spotted this knitting thread on mse and hope you don't mind me cross posting from a friend of mine who is trying to get as many people to knit little coats for dogs in the pound to keep them warm this winter.
Thank you for any help you can offer -
With winter fast approaching some of the poundies will be grateful of a nice warm coat to wear to keep them warm on their walks or a jumper if they're small/skinny.
If anyone has any that they would be happy to donate we all have a mixed size of dogs coming through and not always in the best condition.
Birch Hill kennels have just done a plea for bedding for the large amount of poundies they have taken in lately.
If anyone can help with coats/jumpers please message me for my address/contact details my e-mail is bernicalladine@btinternet.com or my number is 07999546593
