  • I do a long tail cast on (one needle and thumb) for most things but will do a cast on with two needles if the pattern instructs me to.

I wish I was at home knitting right now, my brain has turned to mush of late and I can hardly concentrate on anything. Perhaps I'd be better in bed even!

I'm starting to get into a pre-Christmas knitting panic as well so I really need to focus on my gift knits and getting those done ahead of all the things I keep thinking about knitting for myself.

    Evening Everyone

My daughter really likes the long winter scarves that are around at the moment, but they're not quite long enough for her.

I remember, years ago, knitting a maxi scarf that reached my ankles! lol

Does anyone remember those really long scarves and has anyone got any idea how many balls one would take?

    Thanks,

    Sal

Compared to some of the people on Ravelry, that hardly even qualifies as a stash ;-) - there are people who measure theirs in *rooms* rather than bags...

    My Owl fingerless mittens

    Picture004.jpg

I got this pattern from raverly and love it. They supposed to be knitted in aran but i`ve done them in a chunky and went down a needle size. They so quick to knit up , i`m going to be knitting a few pairs for christmas pressies.
Btw, the yarn i bought from a charity shop for 59p per 50gr ball and managed to get 2 balls and just started on the 2nd ball for the last 10 rows.
Oh and the yarn is Bri - Nylon lol, a blast from the past there lol

nuttywoman - Love the fingerless mittens!

Im sorry to barge in here, ive just found the thread and subscribed, going to a fair bit to read through from the beginning!

Im a beginner, only made a lil hat for my neice recently and attempting to make her a lil cardigan with a hood. Never used a pattern before, only played about when was a kid knitting scarves and then taking it all to pieces and starting again!!! - So to have finished something is a miracle!

I just wondered if anyone can tell me what "knit straight until measures...." means? Im presuming just knitting away until the piece measures the required length? Probably a really stupid question - Sorry again!
