Thank you! They are not difficult to knit at all, if you can knit in the round and do knit/purl/slipped stitches you can knit these socks. The pattern is created by purling a few rounds then combining knitted stitches with slipped stitches before purling again to make a honeycomb affect. The pattern is called Circle Socks and it's free on Ravelry. The yarn is Kaffe Fasset Regia in the colourway Exotic Zany, I got it at Hobbycraft but I'm sure you can get it in other places as well.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member #398 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts :T

I love Regia wool - I have the same kind in one of the older colourways, forget its name. I hope Kemps online shop get it back again, they had it nice and cheap when I bought it.

Oh yes I did get quite a bit from Kemps when theey had it at a bargain price but forked out full price for this stuff before Kemps had it in stock (very annoying!) worth looking out for it on the cheap though. Also this pattern looks fab in any self-striping yarn really, there are lots of examples of it on Ravelry.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member #398 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts :T

Ah maybe Kemps didn't have this one, I know they had a couple of the "Exotic" colourways though. I love self striping too and have quite a bit stashed away...I also wish I could knit more quickly though, my queue of things to knit grows far faster than my knitting does!!Official DFW Nerd Club - Member #398 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts :T

lambanana: those socks and the shawl are gorgeous! Well done!
Well I have finished my mum's hat- only used one ball of wool (the pattern for DK stated two 50g balls but I was using a slightly different wool and it must be lighter albeit same thickness- it is a mohair mix, Patons Caressa). I am really pleased with it!
Am back onto finishing the gloves (nearly there) then will move on to either a chunky hat or maybe some socks in a nice rib!
Hope everyone is doing ok.

Hi everyone, I've had to take a break from the fireman sam jumper as it's just not going right. The part where the picture is keeps going really tight and there's holes in it each time i change colours so I'm going to seek out someone who can show me how to do it properly!
I bought Let's Knit today and think it suits me a lot better than Simply Knitting as it seems to be more for a beginner! I love one of the jumpers in there but it requires Aran wool and I don't have any of this -does anyone know the cheapest place to buy it or a cheaper alternative. I really love knitting but can't justify spending too much at the moment!!Proud wife to a soldier and mummy to two gorgeous boysDealing with our Debt Barclaycard £2022.98 RBS £1249.86 Next £183.03September Groceries £120/£102.05:( September Packed Lunches 22/6Sealed Pot Challenge #9940 -
stylecraft, woolcraft, hayfield, cygnet all do big 400g balls of aran wool for between 5 and 7 pounds. aran is the thickness of wool. am interested which pattern your planning on making, as i have this magazine, tho not had time for a proper look at it yet.
simply knitting is my fav knitting mag.
for beginners knitting mags, try knit simple, not widely available, as its printed in america, over here it sells for 4.50 one of the cheaper magsloves to knit and crochet for others0 -

Thanks, will have a look over in hobbycraft next week when I have the car. The pattern is the cricket style one, think it's called Viv? I don't like it in the colours in the magazine but was going to do it in grey with light and dark pink lines. However, I'm going to do some practising on the cable work first as I've never done that before!!
I like simply knitting but I found that Let's Knit had more instructions in it if that makes sense! Will have a look for the other one but not until next month now as I've already bought SK and LK this month, DH will go crazy if I buy another lol!Proud wife to a soldier and mummy to two gorgeous boysDealing with our Debt Barclaycard £2022.98 RBS £1249.86 Next £183.03September Groceries £120/£102.05:( September Packed Lunches 22/6Sealed Pot Challenge #9940
