Do you mind if I join in too please? I've just knitted a nice hat for my daughter on huuuuuge needles (12) so it only took 2 days to do! I did try to do mittens for my son - did one fine but the second was awful and I am afraid to say I lost my temper and ended up throwing it across the room and vowing never to do mittens again  !
I'm thinking to do a nice easy jumper for my son who is just 3 - just got to plough through all the patterns on the website and will hopefully get some wool tomorrow. Wish me luck!!!!
Look forward to sharing knitting experiences with you all :hello:
Found a nice one I'm going to try:

I start now planning and knitting little gifts for pressies throughout the year. This really helped my Christmas budget 2009, and most things were a delight to knit as there was no time pressure involved. Although I often buy new wools, I use up the leftovers for gloves, hats, toys, bags etc. so it works out cheaply. And warm clothes help with the heating bills : ))
Now I'm doing an OU course , but I still find time to knit as it's very relaxing and a break from study.
Current projects are socks knitted on a circular needle (scary) and a lacy dress for my daughter-in-law's favourite teddy bear. After that I will probably make some baby things - even though there's no baby due... yet!!0 -
Hi after lurking for the last couple of months i would love to join in, i knitted quite a few rabbits for people at work and used the money i made towards my kids Christmas presents. I have started some scarfs for presents for next year and some fingerless gloves. I aim to knit a lot this year including some mens scarves.Jan lunch to work days 0/200

Well my sock!! is done and its partner well on the way. I have a new pattern, some wool and enthusiasm for the coming years knitting. I also think I might do some kind of crafty knitting to sell on Folksy, but I'm unsure what might be a good seller, I was thinking:
- ds pouches (have seen a great (free) pattern for a shaun the sheep one)
- baby matching booties and hats (a bit retro though I think, not your common pinks and blues, something very modern/old/different)
- ?????
what do you think?0 -

I've seen a lot of babies wearing 20's stytle hats with little flowers added onto them. They do look lovely.
Howabout little shrugs in lacy knit as a small cover-up for the summer? Sock Monkeys are v popular at the moment.
I have a recurring problem - I keep picking up my kntting without paying attention and starting to knit on the wrong side and doing a few rows before I realise. It is very stoopid and amateur, but how can I mark/tell which is the rs and ws please?I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -

A visible reminder on one of your needles might work - for example, a row-counter on the needle which is "empty" when you finish a wrong-side row. I don't have your problem, but I do use a row-counter when I knit on two needles (rather than dpns/circular), and only increase the row-count on it when I "reach" it, at the end of the stitches on that needle, if you see what I mean, and then I increase the row-count by two at a time, rather than one.
You could use almost any visual reminder - a row-count just happens to be a handy one for me.0 -

Hi, can anyone help me - I am looking for a cheap supplier of "Drops" wool. Does anyone have any online suppliers they can recommend?
Thanks0
