Hope there's something there for you all mad keen knitters.

Has anyone ever done this and, if so, could you let me have any tips please?
Thanks

Hi Kathy
When I've recycled wool I've wound it into skeins, put them in old tights to stop them tangling, put them through the WM and then hung the tights on the line (can't imagine what the neighbours thought!) but this worked very well. When dry, just removed them and re-wound into balls. Good luck,
Chris;)0 -

Hi there
I wonder if their courrier is snowed under? - I know when I rang they had that many orders being sorted out I had to ring back  ....
My stuff has to be taken to the PO... so it might have got taken out of the way (last time they tried to courrier it to a similar address in the uk -so they probably dealt with mine whilst they remembered)
Hope yours gets to you soon :T-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

Thought you might like to see what has been keeping me out of mischief. If anyone wants a pattern I would gladle point you in the right direction. I was particularly pleased with the knitted carrier bags.

Sorry to be a pain but did you post details of where to get the carrier bag pattern on here? I've got loads of carrier bags that my husband is getting fed up with and i'm worried that i missed the pattern for it!!!
Is there any chance you could post the link please?

Hello :hello:,
Just wondering if we have any circular knitters here? I got a set of the Denise needles from the States which are basically short needles with detachable cords that you can use as circular or straight needles - this link probably explains it betterhttp://www.knitdenise.com/ . They're great if you have arthritis as the weight of the knitting is on the cord which just lies in your lap.
I've been busy adapting old patterns to knit in the round as I hate stitching up - but I wanted to ask if anyone knows a way of knitting sweaters with set-in sleeves without seams - or can't it be done? Obviously it is easy to knit a raglan sleeved sweater without seams - but at present (with set-in sleeves) I knit the body and sleeves of the sweater up to the armhole and then change to conventional knitting. I therefore have seams at the shoulders and where the sleeves join.
Many thanks for any advice. Some people hear voices, some see invisible people. Others have no imagination whatsoever

I have no knit a lot of stuff for raising funds for my childrens' school, so kind of a charity thing. I am finding, however, that buying cotton yarn is SO expensive, it's almost impossible to make a profit. I can find 100grms of acrylic yarn at £1.30 locally and that works ok for some small items, but we really do need cotton yarn for beanies and other items. The whole point is that somebody will want to buy the items we knit, and acrylic doesn't cut it. Do any of you know of a reasonable internet supplier for cotton yarn please? Many thanks0

There's this http://www.kempswoolshop.com/wool_details.aspx?selectedItemID=389314888 for 99p from Kemps. If you bookmark the link and try at the end of the summer, you may well find more at a reduced price, all the cottons are re-appearing for those summer projects hence they tend to be more expensive at this time of year. However Kemps usually have something on sale like this one and they clear out at various times when they expect new stock arriving.
Hope it helps.
