It's always worth asking in charity shops for wool-the one I work in usually waits until we have enough to fill a basket before putting it out.0

I've just started crochet again, due to mobility probs.
Currently bidding on e bay for 2 x bundles of odds and ends and a case of hooks, well worth a look.It matters not if you try and fail, and fail and try again; But it matters much if you try and fail, and fail to try again.

I buy most of mine from ebay. Last week I got 2 400gm balls of aran wool for £2.99 a ball:T More than enough to knit an aran jumper for me and a hat and a few pairs of gloves for the grandchildren :j0

Blueberry , how do you get photos onto Ravelry ?
Do you mean for stuff you've made? You need to add the item as a "project" first, and then on its project page, you'll see a tab for "edit photos". From there you can upload a photo, or use one from flickr or photobucket or from another site (as long as it's your photo to use).
If you mean a photo for your profile, just click on your username in the top right corner and your profile will open - then click "edit your profile" (near the top left) and "add profile pics".

There has been a huge surge in people starting knitting/crochet. For years I've had FAB bargains from charity shops but now, although they still get plenty in, it disappears in minutes I'm told!
I know the Sue Ryder charity shops sell their own range of new knitting wool which is quite reasonable and they do plenty of colours.
If you go to the Lidl site and ask to be emailed with each week's special offers, you will see when the knitting wool next comes in. I've had some great yarn bargains for charity items, little gifts etc. They also do really cheap knitting needles, crochet hooks, circular needles etc but only when it's the "knitting" theme.0 -
K ta. I tried this and it woudnt work. I dont have flickr or anything just saved in this laptop. I might need to get an acc with them.0
