Hi Catwoman I'm in Gillingham just up the road. Only just really found this thread, I'm usually on the special occasions board. I started knitting again just before Christmas. Made my daughter a cable knit cardigan in aran and some dolls clothes for the children in the family. I have the wool for a chunky style cropped cardigan, its a mohair kind of wool which I was given but is quite thick so think a chunky pattern would be fine. Been looking for a nice modern pattern, found one before Christmas on ebay but didnt win it.
I'm knitting bits to make some knitted dolls at the moment, making up the pattern myself as I go along after someone on the other board showed me the knitted dolls on the AK website. I ordered some fancy coloured balls of wool from Kemps in the sale to make some clothes for them. Just going to have a go at sewing the bits together to see how they look.

Great to meet another neighbour. I know Gillingham well, I was born there and lived there until i was 20.

I may have a pattern for a chunky cardigan at home, I'll have a look for you and let you know.

Def start a Ravelry group yes I'd be up for that !
  • Well, at least one other person likes the idea, so I've started a Ravelry group. It's at http://www.ravelry.com/groups/mse-ravelry - if you're logged in you should see the link to join. If you're not a Ravelryeryeryerer... go and request an invitation from the homepage :-)

  • Hi there. I would like to knit a retro bag for a little girl, the type that has bangles as handles. I have found this pattern which is cute but I could actually manage something a little fancier, although not cable. Would any of you have a link to a free pattern for a bangle bag please? Thanks in advance. http://kat-knits.blogspot.com/2006/06/bangle-bag-pattern.html

Lopez, can you crochet? If so you could just crochet some flowers (or knit some) and sew them on.

    Just a thought,

    Bella.

I thought of starting a MSE group on Ravelry, for those of us who are a little bit addicted to both - what do people think?

Hi everyone, lately I have seen a few people wearing knitted body warmers, they almost look like a cardigan but with no sleeves and ribbed armholes and I would love to knit a nice chunky one for myself. Has anyone seen a pattern for something like this?
