  • I'd divide 50 by 7, leaving 7, so pearl two together on every seventh stitch.
A minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.

I'd just knit 2 together purlwise evenly across the row. So I'd purl 3, (purl 2 together purl 5) 6 times, purl 2 tog, purl 3. (Does that work out?)
  • 2cats1kid - yes that works out but it works out what moaning Myrtle says!

eeek who do i go with?

If you were to decrease that number of stitches at the end of two rows, would it not be more likely to say cast off rather than 'decrease across'?

I would go with the even decrease across the row.

redballoon, tbh either would do. I personally make it symmetrical, but moaningmyrtle's would work just as well. I wouldn't do half at the beginning and half at the end or you might get a stepped effect at each end.
  • thanks it's worked out ok!

Decrease stitches will mean evenly across the row. If it had to be in specific places (ie the end or one side or centre) it would normally say so!

  • ah yes, of course, didn't think about that ;)
