alex2796 wrote:As someone who is Chinese and actually quite into feng shui, I can tell you it does have an effect, but there are a lot of factors to make it work, such as the year you were born, your house's placement as well as the current year's "position"..
Althought there are always some basic feng shui tips, such as the placement of the bed and the use of mirrors...
Maybe you could share some of the tips with us alex2796? or let us know if the ones we are doing are correct?0 -

I've just moved my money plant and frog into the SE corner of the house as opposed to the SE corner of living room, just to see if it makes any difference.
Hows everyone else doing with their feng shui?
Also I noticed that there is "Feng Shui with Sarah Shurety" at 2pm today on QVC if anyone is interested.0 -
Can anyone tell me what the latin name of the Money plant is? I keep going in looking for these plants but they all seem to have the latin names and I can't work out what I'm looking for.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Shez, since you asked I'll bring the story up to date.......
The wealth area in our house is the place in our L - shaped living room that is the dining area, this is also where the computer table is tucked in behind the archway. My jade plant lives on a shelf on the wall.
Because I do ebaying there are times when I have a lot of stock to store till it gets sold, all the pieces need photographing and listing so I had been keeping them close by in boxes in the dining room while I worked on them and on occasion there had been quite a few large boxes of stuff stacked neatly in the dining area, they didn't look too untidy but over the course of a few months the odd stacked picture or so joined them, then an exercise bike etc....
At Christmas all this stuff had to be moved so that the room would look at it's very best (it had begun to look a bit like the set of Steptoe and Son) so it all went to the shed, garage etc and the dining area was back to what it really should be.
While I had a bit of time off over Christmas I read Clear Your Clutter With Feng Shui by Karen Kingston, it was mentioned earlier in the thread) and it was a real slap-on-the-forehead moment when I realised that I had over a period on months clogged up the wealth area with stuff so that there was stagnant energy and no flow through (this language still sits a bit uneasily with me, but I think, just go along with it .....) I hadn't really thought of my stock as clutter, to me it was a work in progress and the tools of my trade so to speak. I read other books too and put some red items into this area, some oranges (symbolising wealth) in a fruit bowl and now things have happened....
The stuff went out of the house the week before Christmas, I had decided that I was too busy to get a lot of new items photo'd and listed for ebay, I assumed that no-one would be buying in the last few days before Christmas so I just put on a load of re-lists, just to keep an interest really but something weird happened, things that had be re-listed several times before, so much so I considered them to be virtually dead not only sold but went for very good prices, the week after was the same, I had a token half hearted list offered and things were snapped up. This has carried on into January with a great sales including one of 10 empty vintage toy boxes fetching over £120. Not only that but there have been totally and utterly unexpected sums of money arriving, tax rebates etc that have pretty much added up to the amount of money equally unexpectedly leeched out of the house 12 months earlier.....could all be a coincidence maybe?0 -
This is very exciting, AP! Keep us posted!0

Hey, good for you AP, thats good news!
Dont know if this counts, but I moved my money plant and today I finally got a letter about a claim i made for JSA!!! I had applied 7 Dec, and was beginning to give up hope! ha ha - Also today I got a phone call about job, going for interview tomorrow - so things still on the move and looking promising.
I've just found out that the Feng Shui was on at 4-5pm instead of 2pm as printed on my QVC programme guide - I thought they had cancelled it, so I missed the 4pm show!
Has anyone read her books? are they any good? I have read the Karen Kingston one.
Can I ask AP, is it pretty easy selling on ebay? I have got two double buggies stagnating in my health area, which I need to shift, was thinking of ebay? have tried local posters to no avail.0 -
Hi Shez...I only sell small things like china and antiques so I'm not sure how buggies go.
I'd have a look on ebay, use the 'SEARCH' (top right of every page) to find your type of buggy, the look at the left of the page to see COMPLETED AUCTIONS, this will tell you what the ones that sold over the last 2 weeks went for, it may be worth the effort or you might think that an advert in the local paper is better/easier.
If you do decide to sell on ebay I'd go to the MSE ebay board and ask for advice there, there is bound to be a regular who has sold buggies before.0
