Had some really vile drunken texts from my Dad last nmight - thought only my Mum would do that. His last one said "I despise weak people".

I think today could be clean sheet day literally.

    Speak to you all later

    Good morning NME,

Your Dad has obviously got his reasons for thinking that way, but he's the one that's showing weakness; he should be proud that he's got a daughter whose not afraid to confront her mistakes, address them, and then get on with her life.

    All the best,

    Richard

Well to paraphrase what I said yesterday "If it's good enough for you Dad then it's definatly good enough for me!" Though if he went BR in the '70s there was a lot more issues then. He probably doesn't appreciate what a positive thing it is today.

We will all be thinking of you today and wishing you well.

  • Hello all!

I survived and live to be amongst those who worried what all the fuss was about and wished they had done it sooner.

i met my friend at the school and we drove to the court. Finally got to the BR counter and this opens at 10. There was 1 person before me and one after. The one before was ready for it and quite indignant (and brave), the one after was 72 and clearly knew what was what, it was like he was drawing his pension and thought I was comical considering i was at pass out point and swigging rescue remedy like large brandies!

I paid my money and the clerk crossed out a couple of things and asked me to sign a few sigs.

Then went to other room to wait for judge. lots of "black suits" drinking expensive coffee and saying "yah! absoluuutely Tarquin!". I was called in and saw someone that resembled Captain Birdseye. He looked through my docs with disdain (by now I thought i was going to vomit), I said yes sir to all the do you know the implications? questions. he then said it would be doubtful if i could keep my car. he also said that my parking tickets WERE NOT ALLOWED and why did I put them on? I said i thought it was the law for me to add all of my debts whether admissable or not - Sir. He raised an eye at me as if I was trying to be clever. Then said it is now 10.59 and as of this monenet you are now BR. i said thank you sir, walked into corridor and cried my eyes out in a heap on the floor.

i then went and got my friend, who bought me lunch and had a MASSIVE glass of rose.

I got the kids, came home, to find my Mum drunk on the sofa and my baby witha wet nappy. Note to self - the OR interview, the baby comes with me.

I will hear from the OR within 3 working days, and now have that to worry about.

TBH it was like the Judge was nothing more than an official rubber stamper - no more no less.

Anyway - thats me. Thanks for your support everyone.

That's not for the court to decide at this stage. You were right to put them on, since some types can be written off while others can't. The OR will work out which it is.

    Hi NME,

Well done for getting through the day.

I did keep glancing at the news to check that a mad woman, high on rescue remedy, hadn't gone beserk in Croydon County Court and verbally assaulted memebers of the judiciary and Court staff. :rotfl: :rotfl:

  • Hi NME

So glad it all went okay for you

I'm so sorry your dad was so horrible though :( Although my mum took the news very well initially, she 'blew up' at me about a week later, telling me how disappointed she was in me, how selfish I'd been to get myself and the children into this mess etc etc..... and I admit, it really hurt, I was devestated. She has come round though now, it just took some time. I hope your dad does too <<hug>>
You can't control everything in life....... your hair was put on your head to remind you of that :p
