So sad to read you latest update of your Mum, scattymam. It's such a hard time for you all to go through, but on her passing you may just feel some comfort. I did with my Mum when she passed away a couple of years ago and was surprised, but so thankful. It's good to see the peacefulness too.

Your memory jar will be comforting for you to go through on Mother's Day, so you'll still have her one way or another.

Thinking of you so very much, Sue.

Mam passed away peacefully on wednesday night - she had been in a coma like state since sunday and so went peacefully while sleeping. I am relieved for her but will miss her every day she was my best friend as well as my mother. Am still making her the memory jar for mothers day, she doesn't cease being my mother because she isn't here. Thanks to all for your kind messages. It has given me something to do.

My sincere commiserations to you and all your family scatty, but whilst I'm so very sad for you I'm also pleased (as I know you are) that your dear Mum is at rest and free from all the pain and misery the illness causes. As you rightly say, she'll always be your Mam and will no doubt be looking down on you and that memory jar on Mothers Day. Keep her in your heart scatty and she'll never be far away.

Love and so many best wishes, Sue.

An alternative idea to photo album is a photo book? Have a look at www.bobbooks.co.uk They basically make a beautiful hardback book of your photos. You download their software and arrange your photos in the templates, i think you can also add text in aswell so any nice messages or special thoughts for any of the photos can be included. We had our wedding photos done in this way and everyone says it's a really beautiful way of doing it and just something a bit more special than an ordinary album.

I can second this, I've just made one up for my wife a mothers day present from my daughter (she's only 2). I used a company called Pixalo for mine as Bobbooks takes longer to receive. I ordered mine on Wednesday and received it on Friday. The quality is superb and the software is very easy to use you just drag and drop the pictures on to the pre-set templates (they have various designs and layouts to choose from).

I wish you and your mum all the best, I can appreciate what you are feeling and going through. x

  • My thoughts are with you for your sad loss.

Possibly a bit late in the day now but for what it's worth my wife works in a school and she told me of a child there whose Mum is also suffering from terminal cancer. Her family named a star after her which I'm told Mum really appreciated. The website is http://www.starlistings.co.uk/
