hugs celyn, that was a horrible thing to happen to you

great to see you are home Haribo, see you picked the coldest weekend, poor Pink will be frozen :D

plenty of snow showers here but not lying, very windy too, no work today as the taxi taking the children in cancelled, bit wild up country

made carrot soup and generally clearing out cupboards
  • Afternoon all! I was due to meet Gingham for lunch, but the weather has got in our way :o Just seen the lunchtime weather, and there's lots of snow forecast in the next couple of hours  The Small Penguins will love that, but it's looking unlikely that DS will be spared school due to poor weather

I've been using my unexpected day at home wisely. I've made marmalade, and have more oranges to chop for a Dark Whisky version :T I've made a batch of oxtail soup for weekend lunches (with HM rolls from the freezer). I've marked out the blind for my study, so need to cut and sew that next. I've laid a fire, so will curl up in front of that, soon, for some knitting and sewing. There's a play on Radio 4this afternoon, losely based on baking cakes, so I'll have that on too ;)

I think our plans for a weekend in the garden may be postponed, too

Haribo - glad to see you back

    Celyn - hugs for you

Shez - enjoy your lunch
Cat - really hope you win the tractor :T

    Happy Birthday to N9eav

Congrats to Granny and Grandpa Hester

Have a great day, Penny. x

Afternoon everyone........................(((((((((((HUGS))))))))))) if you need one.....

Just got back from a very windblown walk with OH, at one point it alamost blew OH over, had to grab him quick!!!!!

Its a bright sunny day here in the East Mids, but boy is that wind strong, better inside than out, if you ask me...........

I slept in this morning, so did not get my feet on the floor until after 9.30, a quick trip to my friend to take her some garlic, onions and leek from the lottie, had a coffee whilst I was there.

Bacon sarnies with brown sauce and an apple for lunch, have put a bread and butter pudding to soak for suppe tonight, it only takes a few minutes to cook in the micro.

Yesterday I rang about the electric, was trying to put a meter reading in and it kept saying there was a higher reading on the account, turns out they had estimated the account. Leccy bil since we changed in November was £56.00 not too bad, but have been using the oven a lot.........works out at about £18 per month. I think we will save a bit on that during the summer when we eat more cold meals.

Right off to have a cuppa and then finish binding two table mats..............
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

Hi all, just a quick one from me to say (((hugs))) to celyn and Welcome Back to Haribo - glad everything went well.

Fairly busy weekend planned back-and-forth-and-back-and-forth again to my mum's in the Peak District (Taking my youngest sister (14) and her boyfriend (16 -) to a hockey game in Sheffield on Saturday) but although it's a drive of 120 miles altogether, I escape cooking entirely!! Plus dad has gone climbing in Italy for a few days so me and mum will get to spend some time together which'll be nice!

Anyway, have a good weekend everyone, and :grouphug: to those in need.

Catowen - no matter how small you feel your problems are, there'll always be a listening ear on OS if you want to vent xxx

    Hi again everyone,
I`m really chuffed with myself now cos i`ve managed to make Twinks hobnobs without burning them:j
I always manage to burn around the edges when i`m trying to make anything like this and it always dosen`t taste quite right, thankyou so much for posting the recipe Twink, i`m on my third one now so i`d better freeze some before i go through all of them which is quite possible.

The snow here is going past the window sideways so i don`t fancy venturing out anywhere, i`ve had a look in the fridge and i`ve everything in to make a chilli except for the onions, i think it will have to be an onion less chilli then tonight :D , we were supposed to be having wedges and other bits but i don`t really fancy them now, the weather calls for something really warming and i think chilli will hit the spot.
I have some dough in the bm and i`m going to have my first attempt at bread rolls, fingers crossed.
    Catch up later
    SD
Planning on starting the GC again soon :p
