Hi, this is the Daily Thread for today. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
I've been up since 4:30 so I thought I'd start the thread, nothing much to say though as I posted last night. Off to work soon, no rain here much yesterday & no snow today, Hugs to those who are haveing problems with the weather.

:bdaycake: Happy Birthday to me.
Greetings. Hope everyone is well. I have the day off and a long weekend, so looking forward to that.
I shall be preparing for a party this evening for most of the day. I have no idea how many are coming, but I think about 20 or so. Hard to say as some friends have replied. Work is pretty much open, come if you want, and then there is family and neighbours etc... Should be fun anyway.
I am going to budget £100 for booze and food, so I will have to make it stretch. Thankfully we pay no council tax in Feb and Mar as they take it out over 10 months. So I got the cash so to speak.
The weather was threatenning, what with snow and stuff, but it looks like Cornwall will escape any of that .
Well folks... have a nice day.NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
Happy birthday N9eav, have a good one

Happy birthday N9eav, hope your party goes with a swing.
It looks like the horrible weather has blown itself out over here in NI. There is no white stuff either thankfully. Yesterday wo*k (supermarket) was v.busy, a few people mentioned that they were a bit concerned that they'd be unable to get out if it snowed and were stocking up on the essentials just in case. The things us ruralites have to put up with! It's horrible being snowed in unexpectedly - I have six bottles of wine in so I'm ready for anything:rotfl:
Pink, any news on Haribo? Hope she's OK and recovering well.
I'm off to look at yesterday's thread as I didn't get to finish it. There is no other news to report so I'll bog off now.
Bye all, have a fab Friday.

Happy Birthday N9eav :bdaycake:
Master tru didn't come home last night, he wasn't going to bother telling us. Mr tru rang him at 11.30pm, he said 'oh, I'm staying at J's, I'll be back before work tomorrow'. Mr tru told me when I woke up this morning. I bet he sails in 5 mins before he has to leave, expecting me to have made his sandwiches and flask. He's going to be disappointed.
Not sure what I'm doing today, mr tru has a day off so we'll probably do stuff as and when we feel like it, and as and when we can be botheredBulletproof0 -
:j Happy Birthday N9eav - hope the party goes well
We've got a sandstorm raging outside today so the boys are going out to the cinema and us girls are staying home :rotfl: Need to do a check of the fridge and cupboards for the 'big shop' tomorrow - DH is off work at the moment and cooking everything so my grocery budget will be through the roof this month  Might do a bit of baking, a tray bake perhaps. Shall have a mooch on here and see what I fancy....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY N9EAV  enjoy your party.
Hope people have had a better nights sleep and are feeling ok. No snow here, we very rarely get it being so far south. Last time I got completely snowed in was 10 years ago. Really miss it, would love to show DS the joy of going downhill on a teatray:D !
I don't quite know what I'm going to do today, had planned to start digging over the allotment but if it's too cold it just gets a bit miserable. Have to study, might do some baking. Can't do anything noisy as OH will be in bed.
Am annoyed to find the zip on my No Fear ski jacket has broken. I bought it last year rom a shop that was closing down and have only worn it for about a month. Will be contacting the company at some point today to complain.
Off to have a shower. Have a good day all.

Happy Birthday N9EAV -:bdaycake: hope the party goes well. 2 packets of crisps, some Twiglets and the rest of the £100 on booze - that's how I would spend it! Have a great time.
Well, I didn't get much time on here at all yesterday; I was trying to play catch-up with w**k because it was the end of the month. I've spent a lot of time this week re-working our finances so my w**k has suffered a bit. But, onwards and upwards as they say. At least January is out of the way and February is short - I'm always glad to get those two months out of the way.
It poured with rain yesterday morning but the afternoon was nice. No sign of the white stuff here but it is pretty cool. I managed to get all my housew**k done yesterday so the house won't need much attention over the weekend.
Our lovely neighbours (Saturday evening drinking partners!) moved yesterday; they've only moved 5 minutes away by car. Their house was directly opposite ours (well, it still is but they're not in it!) and it looks really sad with no cars outside (the newbies haven't moved in yet). Their new house is opposite a lovely pub so we have already been invited to test it out and stay the night if we want! Must think of a house-warming present - she collects ducks; she has two real ones that I've had to round up a few times when they've escaped, so I'll see if I can add to her ornamental collection.
Well, today's job is to sort out the wages for the sub-contractors because the money DH has been owed for weeks is now in the bank. Yippee! :j :T :j :T We gave the subbies as much as we could but it's been a horrible week scrabbling round for money. So, it's a trip to the bank, then to the supermarket for a much-pared down shop; I've just about got a week's worth of meat left in the freezer which I'm going to use up this coming week and then I can visit the butcher next week and re-stock. Isn't it amazing what meals you can conjure up if you really put your mind to it? I've learned such a lot on this thread and it has helped enormously this last couple of weeks. I hope never to waste anything ever again!
Well, I've waffled on. I've not been on here much lately but, when I do, I ramble on and on, don't I?!
Anyway, I must go and have my shower. I intend to get out really early this morning - well, after the school rush - so need to get a wiggle on. I'll try and catch up with the last couple of days' threads later but, meanwhile, (((hugs))) to all in need.
See you later.
