  • Went to pick up my order today, but they only had 26 instead of 30. As I was taking them through the till (bumped up with 10 chicken in gravy packs), I noticed that they were the larger size packs. The cashier asked if I wanted them taken off, so I said I'd sort it out with CS afterwards. Paid using a joey voucher. Went to CS, who gave me a full cash refund (£32.50) for the beef without taking the points back! Result - an extra 1332 points for nothing (I got 1846 points for that shop, including the chicken). They then found the right size packs, but only had 24 of those, so I took them through the till. Total cost was just over £15, but with my Joey voucher, it brought it down to just over £12. Total points for just over £12 spend was 1215.

My total spend for today was: £23.68 (after refund). Total points for that spend: 3061. Tesco is paying me to shop there! ;)

Seems to me that the best way to buy the beef is in packs of 24. That way, using a joey voucher, you're only paying 69p more than you get back in vouchers anyway!

Phew...just your store! But just think how many people would have bought this beef and not checked the receipt? That's nearly a 100% increase in price:eek:

Did they take your extra points back when you got the refund?

Refund and keep the product is what I would have expected too.

Bought 6 more this morning. They sorted out the prices as they were right today.

No, they didn't do anything about the points at all :)

Anyone get differing levels of beef?

I had 2 slices in one pack and 5 in another :rotfl:

Are you sure they were the same size packs?

I just bought some and it was only when I got home that I noticed a few of the 227g packs were there too (but the cashier hadn't scanned the packs individually so she didn't notice either). Wondered if that was how some of yours were larger too?

Hmmm, looked at all my remaining packs and they are all 114g

    Maybe a 227g slipped in somewhere :D

Hi, I have only just found this site and it certainly is very addictive. I thought I was the only person who looked for extra points, reduced items @ buy one get one free etc. How wrong I was.

    noff- escape, escape now.

turn your computer off and throw it out of the window.

Else you'll get sucked into this world of obsessive bargain hunting and money saving like the rest of us people who try to escape and can't.

look at me..saturday night and here I am...again...

    Run, run away.:D :D:D:D:D:D:D

i bought 3 packs yesterday even though i dont like the beef - total spend £1.98.. got my points... came home and told my mum id bought it but didnt like it and showed her the packs.. she says "your nan uses them" so told her to give them to her as i dont want them.. nan turns around and says shes been looking for it for ages now cos tesco havent had any in! (i wonder why :rotfl: ) so she'll gladly take it BUT.. refused and refused and refused not to pay for it... so in the end mum gave in and took the money .. nan gave her £2 and said to keep the coppers!

So i got 151 points (150 extra points plus 1 point for the £1.98 spend) worth £6.04 in deals plus 2p profit! :j So £6.06 made from this thread! :D

(and yes i feel a little guilty :o but my nan is a very independant chick and always pays you back even if you insist she doesnt! Plus i did get soaked through in the rain on the way home from work after buying it - so 2p profit for that seemed fair :o )
