    4,000 !!!

I thought my 1,100 was a lot ......b-l-i-m-e-y. Very nice double if you can sell them on. I know of an independent freezer shop back in my home town but not down here....the thought had crossed my mind too, but it was easier, and pleasing to donate them.

If you can afford it.....the tesco beef savings bank has a nice rate for investments. :)
  • The big boys won't buy,all are central buying, you need a local Independent Freezer Centre ,Dellboy or Market Trader.I was going to donate them as well but I looked in yellow pages and couldn't find any where suitable.I had 300 in the back of my car (my first collection I couldn't fit in my freezer and I had to do something with them before they thawed out.I ended up getting a very poor price for them .I have 100 being del. every day this week with the 1000pts with £75 ordered on-line.My big collection is on Saturday so I have a few days to find a buyer at a higher price.I still think my orders may get cancelled or not have enough stock,we'll see. There order system in store only goes up to 999 so had to do separate orders.

Yes a lot of money,a bit of a risk, they won't take the points back I hope.
  • I suppose the local corner shops might be interested in a few. - but still its better to donate them to the local savy army or homeless homes - unless these are full. How about schools?

Yes I looked for homeless homes in the Yellow Pages but couldn't see in my area as that was my first thought.Schools wouldn't be able to accept anything unless you were on the approved suppliers list even if it was free.Too much of a risk for them to take.
  • I also found it difficult to find a homeless centre, instead I looked up shelters on the internet and found a lovely centre in our local town who is very appreciative of anything we give them and are totally gobsmacked by my offerings to them.

As mentioned before, my local store will not permit points on orders over 50, so am having to travel into town each day to pick up 48 a day! (and clear the not very full shelf too) So have just rung customer services to ask what their policy was on this, she read it out to me over the phone and in a nutshell - it's down to the managers discretion.

It's nice that some of the needy are benefiting from Birds Eye beef.

    Well done all of you.

If anyone can tell me of somewhere that will take 300 beef today in Southampton then I'd be very grateful. Phoned a few places and no luck so running out of ideas!

Have you tried Jesus army? local council or churches may be able to point you in the direction of shelters that have freezers. I got loads of info of where to ring from a church friend as they had all the contacts in the area of people who would gladly take my food off my hands.

Hope the cows find a home.

How about phoning Shelter?. They usually have contacts.

    Salvation Army or CAB.?

Have you got a local day centre for the elderly?. They might help.

Or how about Age Concern. or Help the Aged.
