My order arrived today. I'd ordered 45 and got 16. Looks like there is a shortage all round now. :rolleyes:Herman - MP for all!0

my first online order for beef and gravy was a bit hit and miss ordered 78 got 30 - and it did not like any of the 1000 extra points vouchers, but the nice lady at Clitheroe rang up and said let me know what you want and give me 4 days notice and I will order if for you....0

If this is an online order then its no wonder. None of the 3 Tesco's near me ever have more than 21 or slightly more on the shelf. Then when people start buying them...
It's best to just do a bulk order otherwise you'll be continually disappointed0 -
I bought 6 packs of chicken in gravy yesterday. All will be eaten in the next couple of weeks. Somehow buying food I dont need doesnt sit right with me even if I would get loads of points.
This is just my opinion though, Its great some charities are benefitting from this so dont go shouting me down!!Auntie Savingsgirl 24/9/06 :j0 -

I know what you mean. Being short of cash at the minute I can't justify spending money on food that I don't really want, even for a discount holiday at the end of it.
I bought two packs of the organic chips and two packs of burgers and I will probably buy three packs of the meat in gravy stuff next time I go shopping but I can't justify buying any more than that, personally. (Doesn't help being veggie either, although rest of family aren't.)
Good luck to those people who can and do want to do this though, especially those who are donating the surplus to charity.0 -
Perhaps the cabinets would still be fully stocked and not empty if some of you had not been so greedy and whats more boasted about it online0

Shouted down.....on MSE....never!
Completely understand the sentiment and I would likely agree with you if people were just collecting the points for the sake of it maybe? I think most of us have an intention in mind that x amount of money will be getting spent on whatever anyway, so this is just a cheaper way of achieving that aim.
My kitchen needs attention so it's very likely I shall be visiting MFI...only this way I get to buy what needs bought for a lot less, thanks to the way the points work out.
If I didn't have a specific need to utilise my vouchers though, I don't expect I'd be so fond of beef.Herman - MP for all!0 -

Unfair comment I think.......Tesco offer a product for sale and people buy as much or as little as they want. Tesco have not put any limit on the amount people can buy, in fact they are happy to order bulk amounts in for folk.
It's obvious that Tesco are aware of the sales position of this beef, so they are perfectly able to increase their stock quantities.
If anyone wants to buy this product but there are none on the shelves...can't they just ask for it to be ordered in like everyone else?Herman - MP for all!0 -
There are two sides to this argument. On the one hand why shouldnt people benefit from this offer to improve their homes etc.. on the other it seems very extreme that people are buying 100s or 1000s of packets when there are people struggling to get by. I think this kind of offer is always going to be controversialAuntie Savingsgirl 24/9/06 :j0
