PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING: Hello Forumites! In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour. Threads that are found to have derailed into wider discussions may be removed. Users who repeatedly disregard this may have their Forum account banned. Please also avoid posting personally identifiable information, including links to your own online property listing which may reveal your address. Thank you for your understanding.

While looking through MSE I found this....
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=8078491#post8078491
More people beleive that house prices will fall rather than rise.
Democracy has spoken, lift the ban.

I concur ... or change the forum name from to House Buying, Renting, Selling & Heads in the Sand0

What is stopping you posting in the relevant area provided?
The percentage (like myself) who believe prices will fall is irrelevant.
What matters is people come to this forum asking for specific help on buying and selling houses, only to find their questions disappear off the page, so dinner party bores can drone on and on about the latest 0.1% monthly rise or fall.
If all you want to do is endlessly discuss falling house price then try here:

No no no,
This site is called 'Money Saving Expert', not 'Money saving expert with the exception of saving money on housing'.
If vital information, that is topical, is censored. What is the point of this forum?
Maybe we should keep the ban and add to the 'censored list'? If we are, can I please add all 'should I BTL when I have no idea what I'm talking about' posts.0 -

lol pmsl!!
ok, so the thread is entitled "Will house prices crash in 2008?" which means alot of people won't have even bothered opening it! Have you not noticed that most the HPC threads are only commented on by the same doom and gloom people?? The same things that some people have been harping on about for YEARS!
It's dull.
People aren't gonna vote in that if they treat their house as a home and therefore couldn't care less what happens.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

Why are people wanting a house price crash called 'doom and gloom'. I want one, but was nicknamed smiler at school because I was apparently always happy (i'm not gay btw).
I'm not a doom and gloom person, but I do want house prices to crash. If they did I would be happier not more gloomy.
It's going to happen, we should at least be allowed to discuss it.0 -
Surely if you want a discussion about house price crashes, you could start a thread in Discussion Time?
This board is for helping people with renting, selling and buying. A political/ theoretical discussion should therefore be best in DT?Gone ... or have I?0 -
I don't actually want property prices to fall I just want people to think they will.
Why ?......because like other professional property investors we can still pick up a bargain. Whilst people think prices are going to fall, they don't buy, so there is less competition.
Well done. Keep it up folks.0 -

But the HPC discussion is not censored - it's just confined to one place.
In any event, the HPC discussion is largely speculative conjecture, rather than hard facts or "vital information".Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
