American pancakes (I use the recipe from Nigella's How To Be a Domestic Goddess). Usually again with maple syrup.
Home made Danish pastries, usually with a lemon & ricotta filling (pastry recipe from Nick Malgieri's Bake, filling from Domestic Goddess).
This morning I'm making Norwegian cinnamon buns although by the time they're ready it'll be closer to lunchtime!
I love having something a bit special for a weekend breakfast, especially if we have friends or family staying. We actually have two waffle makers (different shapes) and I would never part with them even if they don't get used every day or even every week.
Yum! That sounds delicious!
We usually have either boiled eggs or bacon sandwich if we have any baconit's nice to have a more relaxed breakfast at the weekend.

Chorizo and fried egg on a halved slice of toasted french bread. Chop the chorizo into one length, halve that down the middle length, then halve those two halves before cutting into dice. Add to frying pan (do not add oil - chorizo produces enough of it's own). Slice a serving of french bread, slice that in halves lengthways and lightly toast each side. Add egg to the chorizo in the pan and fry over a medium heat to your liking.
French bread toast on plate, egg on top, chorizo around the side and then pour the chorizo oil over the top of the egg. Lovely.
Economical too because the remaining chorizo gets diced for another meal of chorizo and chickpea goulash.0 -
We have what the kids call beans and toast and "bits". Bits can be poached or scrambled eggs or grilled bacon or sausages or mushrooms. Sometimes I might make french toast and beans instead. But it's mostly beans on toast based.Val.0

Eggy bread is a huge family favourite at my house and often a Saturday breakfast. If we really need a big brunch, Anglicized Croque Monsieur/Eggy bread combo goes down very well - sliced ham and cheese sandwiches dipped in the egg mix and fried. Nom nom.0

Eggs benedict for a real special treat or poached eggs on toast for a nice weekend brekkie.0

I put a normal mix in the breadmaker Friday night to be ready Sat morning, but had two teaspoons cinnamon and handful of raisins - great for raisin toast and lasts all weekend (hopefully) for us three to graze on inbetween meals. A moneysaving treat!Jan 2012: CC £2,340.30, 2nd mortgage £22,932, Mortgage £57,5380

Usually toast with fried eggs and fried mushrooms, peppers and onions. We have fried eggs and toast in the week sometime but at the weekend it's bigger and more fancy.
Since I'm obsesed with my juicer right now, today it was fresh juices (carrot & orange for OH, carrot, broccoli, apple and cucumber for me) with carrot and orange muffins made from the carrot and orange pulp.Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0
