Your lack of no claims bonus contributes a lot as a full 6 years ncd can offer as much as a 70% reduction on your premiums. That being said your age and the car are not the only underwriting criterea for car insurance occupation, postcode, how long you have held your licence, age of car are just some of the factors that can have a massive bearing on cost..

13 days ago I was quoted 980 pounds for motor insurance. When I received my policy schedule in the post I found that my monthly payments increased the cost at a rate of 26% APR (yet the financing cost was already bundled into the initial price I was quoted)!

The call centre did not explain the terms of the financing agreement at the time of taking this policy out. When I told them I wished to cancel I was then told that I would be notified by the accounts dept of any outstanding charges and they would be deducted accordingly but the policy would be cancelled. I've cancelled my direct debit arrangement to prevent them from deducting costs under the arrangement that I have now cancelled.
