Had an ok day yesterday. Took kids to Pizza Hit for lunch then popped in to see our friends who are DS godparents. They have no kids yet so house v un-child-friendly, are just back from a month in Australia where his brother was getting married and they just don't get what life with kids is like. They did put on Shaun the Sheep fo the kids to watch though. It was great to see them, but godfather was telling us about their holday when DS (age 4) came running in all excited, giggling his head off shouting "the basket fell on the sheep's head heee heee hee heee heeeeeeeeee" incredibly loudly like they do. Godfather just goes "SSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHH" really loudly at him so he could keep on boring us with details of holiday. I was so annoyed, poor DS's face just fell and he trudged back into the TV room. I know its just that they don't get it, but apart from anything else it was just so rude. DS is a person after all and you wouldn't treat anyone else that way.
There were another couple of moments like where he told DS that sofas were for sitting on, that it was not a bed!!! (DS was lying on it , hadnt his shoes on, whats the problem. If DS had been bouncing off it like he does at home, playing Superman off the top of the sofa  and doing gymnastics in general on it, then I could have understood it.

Its not even like thier house is immaculate, put it this way, a spot of flying wouldn't go amiss.
Sorry to go on about it but it made me

Anyway we watched The Bourne Supremacy on DVD last night.

Hey Pigpen I wanna know what you were so chuffed about. Did you make a hair appointment or did you actually go for the chop??? No-one else seems to have picked up on it:confused: .

Busy day yesterday, inlaws came over for lunch and tea so spent a bit of time in the kitchen. Was nice to see them and I think MIL enjoyed not having to "think" about stuff, with the littles around they kind of take your mind off stuff.

Told DD's yesterday DD1 burst into tears, DD2 just said ok, look Im not crying. She did ask MIL in NannyGrans was at her house or in the car but we explained she was up with the stars with Brandy (NG old poodle) and Poppa so she was happy. Anyway not much can happen until Wednesday as the hospital will not release the body for 4 working day (why???) so funeral director coming over to arrange things then.

Took yesterday as holiday but back at work today. As for flying I just S & S kitchen & bathroom before I got ready for work. Whilst here I have booked my theory test for driving  ! Got my hair appointment on Tuesday to look forward to as well.

Oh and the partner where I work is a completly up his own @r*e! He popped in the office, he knows why I wasnt in yesterday but said nothing! He insists on being called Mr X (names have been change to protect the not so innocent;) ) by all his lower class scum workers, what are we on "Are you being Served". sorry rant over!

All the snow sounds like fun! I am still in ed (how lazy ???!!!!!) but I assume it has not snowed since noone has burst in to tell me LOL. It is VERY cold though so maybe we will have a flurry later. We only ever get pathetic snow here (Berks) though last year school was closed for a day  and the kids did manage s snowman (with a parsnip nose as we were out of carrots LOL and grape eyes - DS thought it was very funny).
    have
welcome bonsibabe and Pinzy I have hubby that is great withthe kids but doesnt do much round the house, a 4yr old and a 3 yr old that leave a trail of destruction and a baby that makes no mess but takes the most time to meet the needs of - and it can be done. Will be interesting to see how it goes when I go back to work PT in May. And this is nothing compared to the likes of pigpen who has 8

Dusty - no I had gone to bed immediately after my late post in Friday and missed yours. Glad its not just me still up at silly oclock!!
Oh and good luck for the party
Oh and sorry you are fed up have a ((hug)) and a :coffee: <- thats the first time I've done that wonder if it will work...
how on earth do you stay up that late with 3 kids to look after!!

sexymouse - I kept wondering this week where youd got to but kept forgetting to ask if anyone had heard from you.

toria - I know, I'm terrible, and I am still getting up in thenight with the baby  .Hubby and I are both night owls, we are as bad as each other. In the week I really have to force myself to get of the sofa by 11. My New Years Resoution was to get to bed earlier. The weekends aren't so bad as the baby wakes at 7 and I bring her into bed with us and feed her in bed, she then falls back to sleep with me for an hour or so, and I love it. Never ever did it with the other two but I am being all soppy with her as she is my last. The middle one (age 3) sleeps for England, and is still in a cotbed-as-a-cot - no matter what time we go in at she says she doesnt want to get up (just like her parents) and the oldest, 4, is happy to go to the loo and play in his room til well past 8. So its ok. And on a Sunday I have a mammoth lie in to catch up. Dont feel guilty as I am still getting up at around 3am with the baby, as soon as she sleeps through I wont have an excuse any more!

Shirley - that party invite is brilliant!

pigpen am thinking of all the things I want to do and its really hard, they are all things like "I want to lose weight". "I want to get the shopping done", "I want to do a meal plan etc. Must try and think of something a bit more intersting and fun! I'm meeting 2 friends at the pub tonight but I dant really want to go LOL so that doesnt count either!

  • right - two hours to mark 16 pieces of coursework and hang up one load of washing. - so that's about 7 mins a piece, which makes me feel better as i have 2 groups of y10 coursework to mark before mat leave, and i will be doing a piece of coursework with my other y11 group this coming week, so i can plan slots now of how long it will take to get through it all.

DH and DS now home and like icicles. Kettle on, and DS in bed to hopefully have a nap - good time had by both i think seeing the ducks and cycling round.

lbnb i think you are right with the name of the book - i think i might have said the name of his 2nd one which was less useful as it was pretty much the same ideas, but looking at how certain people apply his rules. I know what you mean about time management issues. I even bought the ATL one aimed at teachers getting a good work-life balance - and i was too busy to read it. :rotfl: Me and DH are using his do it now philosophy as we keep putting things off for ages and they don't actually take that long if you just deal with it.

    weldome Amanda

vanilla, solway and others - on the frozen/thawed/coked/refrozen question - if I have a packet of shop bought frozen quorn pieces or mince, I then ccok it into massive chilli etc then freeze portions are they ok to re-cook ? I have always done this and noones got ill but I have wondered for a while now is it just luck ......

skintscotslass - LOL yes I know, on the way home in the car I was saying rater evilly - "wait til they have kids mwwaaaa ha ha haaahaahahaa". They are the sasme godparents that bought gellibaff and buy the noisiest toys etc just wait ...........

I am finally out of bed, going for a whoser, not hungry so as soon as I am dressed and hubs has fed the kids we are going swimming then when we get back DH is going to:
    - put up a shelf in the dining room
    - change the cooker hood filter
    - fix the loo roll holder
    - occupy the kids while I do my stuff

    I am going to:
    - do DS Number homework with him while DH does his stuff
    - put together a reply for work regarding my return date and new hours and sign new contract and return
    - sort out 3-6 mth clothes for DD2
    - do some filing in spare room
    - hoover downstairs
    - do ironing (have kept on top of ironing for 2 weeks now and its great:D )
