  • I've done very little off the list today, but loads of stuff that needed to be done. Though why when I should be doing the lounge floor do I decide to pull up the carpet in the hall to see if the floorboards are ok.

Anyway, I thought I'd share this with you all, it's the invite I got to my nephew's first birthday party. Dispite not needing to be old style for monetary reasons, there are times when my sister is definately very OS. I love the way he's trying to eat the second one.

Shirley - that is definately the cutest birthday invitation ever!!!
  • Morning all,
WM on, windy here too so I might get that on the line. Bin day tomorrow but I have to wait for Bill over the road to put his out 'cos I don't know which fortnight we are on :rotfl: Airlock in the boiler since the water was turned off in the week means I've no hot water left so I'll have to sort that out before I can do dishes mountain. Ironing to do and that's it so far. Oh, I'm going to try and clean up a cream wool rug I got given that was going to the tip too.

Pinkfairy, haven't heard 'cwtch' in years, not since my S.Waleian room mate at Uni in 19eightycough, certainly didn't know how to spell it, lovely word!
Now, Kaz..are you sure that first coat of paint was dry before you put the second one on?
    Welcome Bonsibabe!

Me time..I live on my own too but I was thinking in the week that I spend probably an hour a day making my house lovely and about 10 mins on myself. Some mornings I get to work and I haven't even brushed my hair. Did my eyebrows yesterday after all that waxing talk and gave myself a half hour pedicure last night. More of a chiropody appointment really with a scalpel from work..(don't try this at home warning) yuk, I hate feet.

That's all for now. I'm not going to try and get ahead in the kitchen in case our deputy leader switches the days around in the new thread.

  • oooh thanks for that lil_me. Though I'm scared that they think the day starts at 5.30am. I think I may print a couple of those off for the next week and then use them to see what I actually do, before I make plans to organise my life a bit more. At the moment I have no idea how long it takes to do certain things that need to be done, like cleaning the rats cages out etc.

Doesnt everyone get up at 5.30am?? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
  • I REALLY need to join in properly this coming week so today - I'm doing a bit of a crisis clean/declutter so it'll be easier for me to see what needs to be done!

We have got so much Stuff and I think that's the main problem. So, today I'm going to be ruthless and anything and everything will be heading for the bin!!

    Wish me luck!!

    Hello!!!

I've had problems getting online over the weekend and we've been busy with DH and dad's birthday. The cake I made went down well and i've had orders for another next week so will have to fit that in sometime.

Shirleypark - your photographs are fantastic. What camera do you have? I got a pentax K100D for christmas and I love it. It's the first digital SLR i've had so I get very excited about it. You've a real talent. I've put your photoblog in my favourites so I can keep up to date with your photos. I loved your nephews card too. Think I might adapt that someway but not sure how yet. Maybe thankyou cards.

Dusty and co - hope you're not still fed up. Did you forget to do your morning a wimberwaying. That could just be the problem. Hugs to you all.

Jill - the trampoline was around £150 with the net from ebay but they're no longer trading in trampolines. It's been great - no problems at all but I had to get a net as my DS is a little accident prone!

Lil_me - That planner / chart website is fabulous. I'll have a mooch through it later. I love a good planner!

Pigpen - I love the order for 'me-time'. I'm going to tint my eyelashes as i've been meaning to do it since before christmas and I love it when it's done. Can't wear mascara as it makes my eyes water. I'm also going for a long walk and if anyone else in my family wants to join me they can but i'm going anyway.

Yesterday I only worked a half day (one client was brand new and really loved my treatment which was a good boost - she's booked in again monthly). I entered DDs room at 2pm and didn't leave until 7pm. Four bags of rubbish, a bin bag for charity and a much tidier room. Does anyone else feel that their children just have too much. I kept trying to get rid of things and DD was saying she'd forgotton she'd got it. As I speak she's playing with a huge box of playmobil and having a ball.

I've decided I'm going to have a massive dejunk and i'm going to do one car boot sale. Anything left will go to a charity shop the next day. Nothing will come home. I found about 40 old style polly pocket sets in a box in her room as she always bought one when we went to a car boot. EVERYTHING MUST GO. I'm afraid I can't face ebay - I used to do it a lot but I hate packing it up and sending it off.

When's the best month to do a car boot?

Mmmm I guess it's time to get out of bed now. Then again......

    Have a lovely Sunday xx
  • Solwaykid - I'm exactly the same! I never know which fortnight it is. Although by the looks of things on bucket day, I'm not the only one.

Traceyg - did you try drying out your phone? Mine got soaked just before Christmas. I chucked a bottle of water in my handbag and it leaked everywhere. I took the battery out and popped the mob and the battery in the airing cupboard for about a week. Its fine now. If you do take it in to a shop to try to get it fixed, the first thing they will do is check for water damage. If you look at the phone behind the battery, there will be a wee circle. It should be white, but if its water damaged, then it will be pink or red or possibly a splogy mixture of white and red. (These circles are all over the phone, but I think thats the only visible one).

Kaz - thanks for the tea. I feel thats all I've done all morning is drink tea! But I've emptied the TD twice and am about to start on the ironing. I'm not usually so organised, but we're going to the rugby later on, so I want to have everything sorted so I can crash out and soon as I get home.

    Bonsibabe - welcome!! xx

Who was asking about a puppy staying over and barking? I looked after a puppy last summer and he was as good as gold the first night. The second night he wouldnt stop barking so I relented and let him sleep in the bedroom. My friend thinks I'm a big sap and I am!!

    Anyone up for a HHC?

I have 2 cameras, a Konica Minolta Dynax 5D digital SLR with about 6 different lenses, and a Fuji F10 compact which I tend to carry most places. I thinking of upgrading this year to a camera with more mega pixels so that I can get into stock photography.

There's tonnes of other photos on my website http://www.aimlessdesire.co.uk which I really should update.

I thought the card idea could be adapted for thankyou cards, you could have the same 4 picture idea with Thank You For My Present on the pieces of paper.

    Morning all,
Hugs to those in the fed up corner, hope things look brighter this morning.
I love the card Shirley, I am going to use that idea for DS's first birthday.
Our meal for friends last night went really well, lots of laughs, but I drank too much......aargh! Feeling grotty, but I got up. OH hasn't surfaced yet. My plan for today is
    • marking
    • HLTA bid
    • type up review
    • planning
    • sort through washing basket of stuff that I cleared out of downstairs yesterday and put in our bedroom (I know, but I just couldn't face it after cleaning and cooking)
    • have a long soak in the bath to try to help re-hydrate my brain.
I think the bath first. Someone from Freecycle is coming round at 11 to get some baby stuff, her baby is due in March, like my DS a year ago. Makes me feel broody, but enough is enough! We have 2 and a half kids, quite enough for us to cope with.
