Evening all. Just thought i would pop in and say hi.

If its alright with you all I would very much like to join the thread as my house looks like bagdad on a good day!

With 2 kids that are excellent demolition girls and a hubby that thinks the floor is the laundry basket, I'm at my wits end. After reading the start of the thread, it looks like this may just help me get my house back lol

    Welcome bonsibabe :)

I got all the washing in about 4pm, mostly damp, but a couple of hours hung up indoors and it's dried, folded and put away.

Most of DH's fishing stuff is tidied away upstairs, just the stuff he is actually taking left down here but that will be gone by the time I get up tomorrow!

I didn't know there was a fed-up corner! Where I am most of the time lately, although I call it "The Poo Cave" (where everything is made of poo). Not much fun in there though.

Thanks pollybear. We live in a 3 storey house. Living room, kitchen, utility and toilet on downstairs, 3 bedrooms and bathroom in middle and attic/bedroom4 at the top and it seems that there is clutter in every single room.

My mam and dad are coming for a visit in 2 weeks and I am determined to have it all sorted by then. My mam is really houseproud and if i dont get it done the way i want it done then i'll feel really bad when she comes here.

I have a bad back and hip and poor hubby works really awkward shifts but am determined that on Monday I am going to start blitzing this house - starting with the kitchen and utility room.

Hopefully I will get the inspiration I need to get it all done!

    Thanks

bonsibabe welcome to our very own bombsite, made so by all of the gossip and chaos which is discussed here! CHAOS - Can't have anyone over syndrome. I wish you well with joining in under Pigpen's guidance over the next few weeks as I am taking a break but sure if nothing else you will feel at home here :) My Mother's a PITA (pain in the ar*e) when it comes to being critical about my house, but she's the worst at tidying etc on the surface her house looks fine until you open a cupboard or realise she drops everything where she last used it so my Dad has to tidy it (drives me mad when she stays here as I spend my time falling over her things) so I say stuff it, if she doesn't like it she can help! I'm not superwoman!

Right ooooops that welcome turned into a rant, sorry :o can you tell I am getting stressed. I've gone against my rules for myself because DS2 opened a pack before he went to bed, so I couldn't resist a peek then next thing I know I am downloading all the study calendars :o well, I'm now scared but relieved I have taken my first step. Start date for 2 is the 2nd, so suppose I should have opened them at least.

I've called DP, stamped my feet and finally he's listened. He's being a bit better about it and said we need to get more organised (no sh*t sherlock!!) he's said for me to work on a plan (because his idea is get up at 10.30, exercise, study, relax, hmmm noooooo) then we can go through it tomorrow. So anyway I'm going to clamber back out of my slump in fed up corner, dust myself off and try to get it done, well ish. Recorded Casualty earlier so going to watch that at the same time.

Good night to those off to bed, or off to have QT **winks back at torianut** think I will be here a while yet.....
One day I might be more organised...........

As I am taking over duties for next week.. my first task is tonight.. I decided so I said so..

I want every single one of you.. all the posters.. AND the lurkers because I know you are out there.. To think of one little thing you WANT to do..

I don't care if it is practical, possible or even affordable.. what do you WANT to do??

When you have thought of what you want to do.. I want you to think of ALL the things you do for other people every day, every hour every minute.

ok.. 3 hours have now gone by.. now.. what do you do for YOURSELF?? (showering and taking a pee do NOT count!!!!)

Don't you deserve to do soemthing for you????

Go do it.. it is Sunday.. (well nearly) you have to please yourself.. how can you continue to give and give without giving a little bit to yourself??? You can't.. I know this.. now.. go give a bit of you for you... go on.. move it...

and when you get back.. I want to know what you have done.. how long it took and how much better you feel.. no guilt.. no crap.. you are doing this because I SAID SO!!!! And you can tell hubbys and children and parents I said you HAVE to do something to make yourself happy because that is my gift to you this week.. happiness!!!...

    Right.. move...

My bit for me.. I've spent the afternoon in the pub.. I came home for a shower so I can go to the pub and I have pink nails.. fairly ample bosoms and I'm out there... FOR ME!!!

I forgot who asked about the ebay... I don't probably make a profit.. I sell stuff that I no longer need.. I don't buy stuff to sell.. which means I just geta fraction of the initial cost back.. I think if I needed something would I buy this? would I be happy to receive it? .. if both answers are yes I list it. So long as I cover my fees and the junk mountain reduces I'm a happy chicken. currently at £153.87 with 32 things going.. As I only hoped for £100 I am delighted!!

I think tomorrow I would like hubby to cook for me - after all he is a chef lol. But he works such long and awkward shifts that he is often too tired to cook at home. So I WANT a nice cooked meal from him and I am going to sit and read my book for at least an hour tomorrow!

Then I will have to try and tackle the toxic waste dump that is under hubby's side of the bed where socks are probably lurking lol

Pigpen, really the girls should be having their me time anyway, but well done for reinforcing it and giving them a reason for doing so. I'm planning on escaping tomorrow, I am going to get some bits and pieces from Aldi while I am there but going to escape on my own and take my time :D DP away next Sunday and I don't usually get time off from the boys from Friday - Monday so I am going to escape while I can.
