Just caught up with you lot - taken ages!!

Well we had LOADS of snow here this morning - still managed to get car out and go to work though.

OH and LO built a big snowman - LO's first time playing in snow!

No plans to do any flying except dailies this weekend! Will check in on here still though.

Jill - how on earth do you stay up that late with 3 kids to look after!!

pigpen, I don' t know if anyone has already asked but what sort of things sell and how do you actually make a profit? I still have a room full of books, old coats, shoes, boots toys, games, etc. I take photos of the sea and beaches, would they sell?
yesterday I had to climb a steep hill to get home in the snow so today I can't do much at all. Breadmaker is on for second loaf.
I have all my family home for the weekend and the snow. Did they come to visit their parents or did they come home for the snow? I think the snow. They are all sitting playing on the play station now. Some of them are older than some flyers on here. They are aged 23, 22, 19, and 17. We also have DD's BF (23). Cousins, 23, 23, 22, 22. all here. so I am not lifting a finger for them.
sexymouse and cha97MichelleI really feel for you with all that planning and objective writing. It takes longer to write it than to teach it, and so many people think teachers have an easy life because of the holidays!! That is one thing I don't miss about teaching but I feel frustrated that I have all these schemes of work written and everything in place and I can't teach because of my health problems.

DustyKitten good luck with the party, and I hope your DH manages to get the car sorted out.
lil_me good luck with the course. You are in a good spot to get to tutorials, make the most of them, I didn't bother in my first two years and then the third year the tutor insisted that we all went to Durham and he was so helpful that I got much higher marks.

Just going to wash up, have a warm drink but not tea, take my antibiotic and crack on with this school stuff. I hate having to do my school work in my time, so i know how you feel sexymouse and i am another one who always leaves it till sunday as well. I think because then i have had all of friday evening plus a whole day off so psychologically it feels better, though in reality it is pants that we lose so much time of our own. I didn't leave work till nearly 5 on friday, and still didn't get it all done. School finished at 3, so i don't know where the time goes.

Anyway, kettle just boiled. On i go,

    Michelle, x

Know exactly what you mean. I teach English and Media. There always seems so much marking and prep to do. I arrive at school at 7.50 and usually leave about 5.30. Even so I still work for about 2 hrs every night. Have loads to do this weekend. GCSE marking takes the longest ....about 15 mins an essay at least.
We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.

  • Main task today is to find and buy a suit for DS to wear next weekend. Sadly he's different top to bottom if you know what I mean so it means lot of trying on - how long will a 5 year old be co-operative?? I'm bribing some good behaviour with going by train - lets see if it helps or not!Moam

Well - we did it - yippee!! Nice Thomas Nash suit - fits lovely, wasn't too awful a time looking and he was pleasant company on the train. Also managed to find a suit for a friend with 70% off, and sticking/making bits we needed. So a sucess all round.

Thawing out with a cuppa, checking my Ebay bits (not as good as Pigpen - but I'm one of bids on Pigpens' !) but not bad - and a couple of items I'm watching are still bidless (is that a word?).

Time for a HHC and tea for the boy. Ours already prepped for later - might even make a log fire to go with it..

    Moam
Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.

Snowball says too far away, working hard to bring it forward.

Evening all, I'm upstairs in DS1s room, yes you can get to the other side in there now! Trying to sort his PC out, it won't let him access some of the games because it's ages since it was updated I think, so snook on here while it does it's thing. Quite weird sitting under his bed, I have an issue with small spaces which is making me want to say argh right now!

I've left the ham to cool on the bench so hopefully the dogs won't be pinching it while I am up here, boiled it for about 3 hours, squeezed honey over it, sprinkle with sugar then baked for half an hour mmmm
One day I might be more organised...........

  • I've done very little off the list today, but loads of stuff that needed to be done. Though why when I should be doing the lounge floor do I decide to pull up the carpet in the hall to see if the floorboards are ok.

Anyway, I thought I'd share this with you all, it's the invite I got to my nephew's first birthday party. Dispite not needing to be old style for monetary reasons, there are times when my sister is definately very OS. I love the way he's trying to eat the second one.

thank you lilme and everyone else for inspiring me. I've been very slack recently - I started a new job last year which means I get home at 2 so I had every intention of using the time to keep on top of things. The reality was drinking tea while doing the crossword and sudoku until the kids came home!!

But this week I started flying and tidied my kitchen, put away things in the living room (like a board game we got for christmas which was still on the side table (!), tidied our bedroom, putting all the clothes away and dusting, cleaned the bathroom, cleared the hall table of all the junk mail. completely went through my freezer, listing everything and typing up a list which is now attached to the fridge and cleaning the downstairs windows, inside and out!!! that's probably more than I've managed in the last month, housework wise! No, make that two.:embarasse

I didn't completely stick to the list (I tackled the things in each room which were the worst, and didn't do the kids rooms - that's their job and I usually give them a good going over (the rooms not the kids) each school holiday.

I can't wait for next week's list! Bring it on!
