I love the website Shirleypark. We're off for a walk now into a huge old wood so I hope to take some pictures there. I've not really done much photography since the children came along and all my photography was done on film which I studied at university. I'm VERY new to digital photography but enjoying it.

Welcome to the site Amanda....hope you have a good days flinging xx

Hope your hangover isn't too bad lbnblbnb xx
  • Morning all.

Pigpen - off to a good start with the ME stuff. Brekkie in bed courtesy of DH, although I did give him a shove!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Solwaykid - I did have to check the spelling, but it's a lovely word. DH is a Welsh Speaker (first language - didn't speak English till school, mother's Irish!!!, no, he was farmed put to Welsh Granny and Auntie, so their fault). I am planning to learn. We've lived here for three years now, so it's time I made the effort. If I can do it in Norway and Germany, there's no excuse

    DW emptied by DH
    WM emptied, hung up, reloaded
Dogs and cats fed. DH has just let the dogs in from the garden, one at a time, taken them to the shower room to wash their legs and feet, and was asking for help. I said when I bath them, I always do it on my own, so, NO! It's the best entertainment I've had this morning!!!:T

I was too late for a delivery this week, so off to Sainsburys shortly. I do my list on My Supermarket, and they always come out cheaper by at least £10!

    Still to do today:

DH's room (he'll manage to get up by the time I come back)
Charge everything for work (work phone, own phone, camera/dictaphone for observations tomorrow, SAT NAV, hands free)
Photograph all Assessment Plans and Upload
    Put shopping away
More shredding and filing? (If not, can go on the Flylady plan)
    Ironing if it's dry enough
Prepare Assessment Plans , Work Bag, Clothes, Lunch for morning
Soak in bath with a good book, shave legs (ME time, Pigpen), wash and blow dry hair, check eyebrows, maybe even do nails

Right, shift yourself, girl - Supermarket Sweep, here I come. x

I've done nothing yet, I went back to bed and snoozed lol I'm just off to Aldi for a mooch and to buy the pack-up stuff needed, then I have to phone scottish power cause my gas card is still taking off debt, I've put £30 on it this week and only got £9 emergency (not real gas) emergency gas and it's gone out again grrrrrrrrr I'm not a happy bunny.

Suppose I'd better get dressed, laters alligators x
  • Morning folks.

Earliesh start here - 7:40am, which was obviously not early enough as we had wet bedding again on a sunday from DS. Glad i didn't change his bedding yesterday now.

    So, from me this morning:
    • WM on 2nd load - load of my work and casual trousers, load of charlie's wet bedding and PJs topped up with any extra vests i found in his linen basket
    • All up and had a nice breakie of croissants and jam
    • washed up all breakie stuff
    • DH has taken charlie out on a bike ride to give me some time to get my coursework marked in peace, so i made them a packed lunch to take with them while he loaded the car up
    • emptied airer so i could hang up the wet stuff, ironing pile now getting on for a foot high, so best get on with that at some point today.
    • cleaned the top of the cooker
    • cleaned the dining table after breakfast
shirleypark another one here who loved the card, and although the idea is simple, i can't imagine it was easy getting the little boy to hold the cards the right way. So i can see me also stealing that idea at some point. Thanks for sharing.

lil-me thanks for that chart link again, i printed off 7 of them too as i think i need to hone my time management again. I am wasting so much time and getting really stressed by work deadlines.

I really like the David Allen book - ready for anything. His methods are great and it is the one time management book i have re-read as his methods do work if you put in the preparation time, in reality, i never stick to anything long enough for any method to work for me, but his is basically to collect all your ideas/to-do items/to buy items/wish list items everything you can think of into lists. like - to phone, to email, to buy locally, to buy at .... IYSWIM and the principal is that when you get a free bit of time, you look at where you are/how long you have/what is most productive/what resources are near you, and you select something to do off that list. - e.g. write a birthday card while waiting for the kids in the car outside a club. Worth a read anyway.

Best get on as it is now an hour since DH left, and although the school stuff is out, it hasn't been touched today, so i had best get on with it. Will time myself i think and see just how long it takes me.

    Michelle, x
  • Hi All.

Hope you all can help with a question. I have some chicken in the freezer and plan on making something with it. After I have cooked it can I then refreeze it.

Hope you can help as DH and I are having a little disagreement.:rotfl:

    thanks

Mumofjusttwo yep you can cook it then refreeze it.
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

Thanks Mudbath, I may go back to bed for an hour now that OH has got up. Really need to get going on work stuff, but not very motivated. Michelle, what is the David Allen book? I think I read another book of his which I thought was great, called "Getting Things Done" I think. OH would say that one way to get things done is not to waste time reading books about getting things done, but I am always on the look out for help juggling everything. I am starting a course in April which will take even more of my time, so I will be looking for any advice anyone can give me!
I am going to take some paracetamol and give in and go back to bed for an hour.

  • Mumofjust, its fine to refreeze after you've cooked it. Have you got money riding on this disagreement?
Michelle, I laughed when you said you'd sent them out with a packed lunch, a little hint to stay away..overnight bag next time? Now there's a plan!
Mudbath, re-carboots.. Easter weekend and any dry weekend after that usually do well. I've saved Shirleypark's photoblog to my faves too.

Washing drying indoors so ironing can wait 'til tonight. I've done 3/4 of the rug before I ran out of carpet shampoo but it's looking fab. Wondering if Stardrops foam would do the rest? I may have to conduct a 'Pepsi challenge' thing and let you know the outcome. Obviously not using Pepsi but you know what I mean..
Hot water mended so dishes done. The water men are back to fil the hole and singing above the noise of the machinery, I might have to shut the windows;there's only so much (i.e none)'Heyyy, hey Babyy, I wanna know-ow-ow, will you be my girl' I can stand.
I'll leave you with that song going through your head if 'a-Wimboway' isn't in there already..

Back when I've more to report.
