Bathroom is done, scrubbed clean! Scrubbed everything from the potty, kids loo seat, toilet roll holder thingy and loo brush. Binned a load of crap, scrubbed the tiles, washed the window, all I have to do it the floor which I will get in a bit.

Dinner is on, the wind is blowing a gale, no doubt more tiles will come flying off tonight! I need to look out house insurance and get roof fixed, they wont fix it in this weather anyway.

    I am tired again. :coffee:

embb, you sound like you need a really good break!

It is really mentally tiring going back to work, and to what is obviously a physically hard job. Have a break, ignore the house or just do level 1 and the dailies for now - you will get used to the work in time and everything wlll come right again.

DW unloaded and reloaded.. TD unloaded and reloaded.. bread bombs just rising.. they'd be in the oven but Tiddles decided they were nice to squish underfoot (through a tea towel!) so they've been reshaped and set to rise again.. she is now punching DD3.. pest!!

hubby still not home.. I think she is seeing the cleaner again!! They must have a new one!!

oh glee.. I got wet in the rain and now look like a sheep again. My hair is however 6 inches shorter.. lol.. I grabbed my 'too small' bra this morning so I have 4 boobs again today.. very fetching.. especially with my chavvy trousers and vest.

    I need a beer.. a snooze and a beer.

YAY!! hubby home.. he can mash the spuds..

    Hi Molly G and welcome

I try to fly and work full time, and I've been doing it several weeks now. Ashbart has just started and is a full-timer, vivw works f/t and so does kaz. Sorry if I've missed others :o

I think following this thread really depends on your mindset. I used to resent spending the whole of my weekends cleaning/ironing/doing chores, so doing a little bit every day suits me just fine, and it frees my weekends up. My best friend, however, hates the idea of cleaning every day, and would hate this!

Try not to go whole hog when you first start, because the likelihood is that you'll burn out. Just aim for the Level 1 each day to start with, while you get the hang of things. I found that vacuuming just one room only takes 10 minutes maximum, even when pulling things out, and I can fit this in when dinner is on, so things didn't take as long as I thought. Vacuuming the whole flat used to be a major job, but just nipping round one room isn't half so bad!

Having said that, certain things take longer the first time you do them. Cleaning the oven, or wiping over the windows is a quick job now I'm keeping them ticking over, but the oven needed soaking overnight when I did that the first time, and scrubbing with a green scratchy (:o ), and I needed to take a toothbrush to the window frames to get the grime off..... So the bigger jobs that appeared on the list, I tended to wait until the weekend to tackle, but once done I've kept them ticking over in the evening during the week. Doesn't take as long as you think.

A useful tip I was given was to declutter as much as you can, and having HAD to do it due to moving, I can really vouch for how much easier it is to clean a tidy house.

    HTH

Hi Molly George - I coudnt agree more with rumbly. I also work full time and my weekends are precious, so it suits me to do a little every day xx
