Phone call from school  DS2 has bitten a boy who broke his toy... 'other Mum is not very happy about it', well neither would I be. Just wondering who it was though... this will be fun when I pick him up. I'm in fighting mode all ready because I know what that lot are like, when it's their kid hitting mine they don't care. It's not like DS2 to do anything like that though. But then again, he has been bullied a fair bit and nothing has been done, maybe this is his way of fighting back.

    LOL! That's how I feel!

I know I should tell him off, and I will. I told him to HIT back, not bite! :rotfl:

No, all seriousness, I will have a word with him, he knows it's wrong to bite. I think he is copying DS2 who bites.

I am angry though, there have been a LOT of things that have been done to DS1 and nothing has been done or said about it.

Tia.. now is your chance to complain BIG time about it.. say it was inevitable he was going to lash out in some way sooner or later and maybe now they will listen when you say he is being bullied by other children in order to prevent this in the future.. and while you do not in any way condone the biting you will deal with that yourself AT HOME!! You feel it IS necessary for him to defend in some way after all he HAS told adults and they have done nothing. I'd also ask if this other child has been disciplined about breaking DS's toy.. and just to really upset the apple cart.. tell them where the same thing is in stock and say you expect it to be replaced!! It will work.. if they see you are not a 'pushover parent' they won't be too keen to call you next time.. if you fuss and make a scene in school they do it all the more!!

If the other parent speaks to you say yes it was wrong.. and you will discuss it with YOUR child at home in private and thank her for her concern and you hope her childs [strike]arm falls off[/strike] injury isn't too severe... I have a biter too!!

DO NOT ever ever tell him off at school in front of the teacher or other parents.. that just makes the other parents think he is a hooligan..

    Good afternoon all

And what a splendid afternoon it's turning out to be. Have managed to wangle working from home for all of it. There's some documents I need to review - so as long as the comments are ready for 9am tomorrow morning, I can plan my afternoon as I like :D

Means I can do the flying whilst it's still daylight and leave the reading until nightfall. Off to get my wings.....

So far today I've done precisely no flying...I have delivered and collected children at different times, and whizzed up and down town to buy rugby shorts, and 90% off bargains in Boots, had coffee and chocolate cake - and read the posts on here!

If I had shorter coffee and reading breaks, I'd have more time to hide my family's belongings (not only OH, but also DS1 regularly accuses me of hiding his stuff while he's out. Yeh, right).

Okay, lunch, superfast fly, and off to the garden while the sun's out.

poohbear - is your husband prescribed any medication for the depression? I may be out of line here, but it might be worth seeing your GP.

shell - happy to see LO feeling better. There's a very good book on bringing up boys - is it by Steve Biddulph? I found it interesting. My sister had a very good and well behaved daughter before her energetic, attention seeking son, and is still in shock nine years on...

Cheers Pigpen, I don't intend on telling him off at school, for one thing I haven't got time!!! I collect DS1 at 2.45 and have to get over to get DS2 at 3.00 so time is too tight.

The school is useless at controlling bullying, DS1 was grabbed by another parent last year while standing in line to get in. MIL was taking him to school as DS2 had an appointment in Leeds and she didn't tell us till a few days later, I was LIVID. I was even more livid at MIL for doing nothing. I told the school that they sort it out or I would contact the police and report the incident and I would make sure they cought the person who assaulted my son. For months I stood in the playground daring anyone to go near him.

better go do some flying.. getting all worked now! :rotfl:
