im also considering my options going to do my shopping elsewhere bye mr t
  • Hi
I too am doing my shopping elsewhere. At the moment I am using Ocado as I had a code for 3 x £10 off first three shops.Quality and customer service is excellent. They may be a bit on the pricy side but by taking advantage of low cost delivery slots ,special offers offers and e vouchers I have at the moment it means I am a lot better off. Tesco's prices have been steathily going up for a long time ,delivery charges have risen also and I think they are about to rise again!I am beginning to think I should have switched a long time ago.I was regularly spending around £320 a month with Tesco, that's a lot of money if you work it out over the year.I think if enough people switch Mr Tesco will will begin to see a great big hole in the profits.Tesco's are creating a lot of negative feelings among their loyal customers who are now busy sharing their negative feelings with other dissatisfied customers on the interet. It seems that they are destroying the very network that helped them to grow and expand so quickly.I hope many others will use their consumer power and vote with their feet!

ok I went onto tesco's and put all the price's on to the stuff I wanted at Lidl then went to Lidl and got the stuff...here's what I got...

3 Batcherlors savoury rice buy 2 get 1 free at Lidl cost £1.10
    tesco's cost £1.65 for 3
    parsnips 1kg bag 39p tesco's 99p
    4 pints fresh milk £1.30 tesco's £1.34
    1 pack 200g middle back bacon 64p tesco's £1.48
    150g peppered ham tesco's £1.64
fresh carrot and coriander soup 59p tesco's 94p
    2 pot noddles 2 for £1.20 tesco's 89p each x 2 = £1.78
    1kg bag carrots 44p tesco's 62p
    500g yellow split peas 36p tesco's 39p
    6 large mild onions 20p tesco's 3pk 88p x 2 = £1.76
    2.5kg potatoes 74p tesco's £1.12
    1 large swede 34p tesco's small swede 89p
    1 large cauliflower 49p tesco's large cauliflower £1.49

    totals are Lidl £8.43 tesco's £16.09 saving me a total of £7.33
so yes MR T is out the door for me...Lidl is the one for me...also I didn't include the delivery if I had it would have come to £3.75 more for a tuesday 9-11pm slot...I am amazed at how much I saved just by going to lidl and buying the same stuff for alot less...:D

Same here - doing price comparison shopping the food I choose to buy is cheaper at Tesco by quite alot, at the moment our budget is so tight its suicidal so I will have to stick to the cheapest - but never say never!

I am on a £40 aweek budget for 2 adults so I cook everything myself as I find it's cheaper especially cheese scones they are £1.40 for 4 cheese scones at cooplands but if I buy the cheese and flour and butter and milk and make them myself I get alot more for my money and you can't beat homemade scones...I believe in the 5 aday thing so fresh fruit and veg are my main buys but I once got a turnip from tesco's not so long ago it was 89p and the size of a satsuma I gave it back to the van driver saying is this a joke...also I have had trouble with there milk being off even the uht milk in bottles was off at a cost to me they wouldn't have it back the following week so it all went down the drain at my expense and I also feel that I am getting second rate servive for doing my shopping online as the amount of things I was giving the guy back as the sell by dates where due that day or the day after well it was just a joke if I go to lidl not only can I choose my own veg and get the biggest turnip or cauliflower or swede I can also see how fresh they are....you have been shown the door MR T so now go and don't turn back...your not welcome anymore ...I will survive...lol:D
