The other day, I asked my cousin why she won't have a clubcard and tried to explain to her that she's losing out on over a hundred quid each year.

Her reply was that it's because Tesco use the clubcard to track your purchases and build up a profile of you as a customer.
I don't see this as a problem, but she seems to see it as some sort of invasion of privacy?

If she got her points manually added at the CS desk afterwards, (in the same way that I do after wombling), am i right in thinking that she could have the points, but tesco wont be able to build their profile???

I'm already doing just over 50pc of my shopping at Lidl now. Saving heaps. Tesco Express is convenient to us for top up shops but wherever possible I'm using other supermarkets for stuff I need that Lidl doesn't have.
"budget" supermarkets are not always as good as some people seem to think!

I went into netto yesterday for the first time in months.
They had heinz soup "5 for £2", but that are in Asda at 6 for £2.
They had Kit kats that I could have got cheaper in Tesco.
Then I had to queue for over ten minutes for a checkout: something that doesn't happen anymore in the proper supermarkets!

Don't get me wrong, there are some items that are worth going to Aldi, Lidl and Netto for, but not always.

(plus: there's less choice and cant use the credit card either, but for me the most annoying part was definitely the huge queue for the checkout: time is money and all that!)

Hi can anyone help. I have just done my monthly on line shop which is due to be delivered tommorrow evening but this afternoon Tesco have just sent me a 250 points code which I want to use on this order. Is there any way of adding this code to my order or do I have to cancel the order and then redo the order? I hope this makes sense!

    Hi Jumps,
Unfortunately, once you have placed your order you cannot add an ecoupon or vouchercode. The only way you can do this now is to cancel your order and do it again (though I have never cancelled an order, so dont know how to do this, though Im sure its simple).

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!

    icon3.gifMoving away from Tesco
I'm moving over to Sainsburys delivery. It's only £2.50 if you spend more than £70 and some products are actually cheaper than Tesco.

Having also seen Jamie Olivers Fowl Dinners I felt quite ashamed of Tesco not even replying to him or showing up for a chat - let alone their ethics. Better all round for me to move away from them and it looks like it won't cost me more either...

    Money... or conscience!

I spent £90 on my first shop with sainsburys and got charged £5 not £2.50.How come?
Anyone pm me a free delivery code as i switched to sainsburys because of tescos codes not working only to find all the sainsburys codes not working too!

is everyone else feeling the pinch on the ever increasing prices at tesco...I only have a budget of £80 a fortnight for 2 adults...but lately I feel as though I am being ripped off by tesco as the prices keep going up and up...have started doing a £20 shop at tesco for household stuff then going to Lidl for my fresh fruit and veg I just cannot afford them at tesco anymore...I cant get sainsburys where I live...

  • I have changed to Asda now instead of Tesco, they are cheaper, with free delivery over £99. I only shopped at Tesco online to collect the points, I am not doing that now for a measly 250 points and then having to pay £4-£5 for delivery on top. I normally spend £100-£120 per week at Tesco, but Asda can have my custom now.
  • Me Also I now have Asda delivering my shopping Mr T is getting really expensive ..He did what they said he would help close down the local shops and stick Tesco's in all the right places stack them high and lure us in only to pull the rug from under us ..Very Very clever...And 5 years down the line total uk domination , ok he seems to forget we put him up there and we can take him down ..remember Kwick save, safeway and the others mmmmmmmnnnnn......After a few weeks i dont even miss Whisking out the old clubcard its becoming a distant memory , What have we got to show for it cupboards an shedfulls and garages bursting with Mr T goodies , not anymore im gonna use what ive got and go back to moderate shopping and not to like its going out of fashion we have all been BRAiNWASHED.......And helped him become global and well wealthy on OUR money
Don't sweat the small stuff, Its all small stuff.

    Agreed.

My problem is only Tesco will deliver to me and I hate shops. However, I do think they are beginning take the p**s a bit so will force myself to shop late evenings at the local Sainsbury.

Someone should start a poll on those switching from Tesco and then post it to them.
