Yep, Agree with richard, never heard of Gree, COP of 2.7

Gree, i have heard of them before.

They are a bottom range air con unit.

They make a lot of portables, i had one of their portables before I got the permanent install.

It worked quite well and lasted a long time ,was still running when i got rid of it to be fair.

Dont know what the quality of their permanent units are.

I tend to stick with Mitsi Fugitsu and Daikin, and in that order of Quality, cost and reliability, have just spec'd Artcool for customer....we'll see

  • A dirty condenser will not make the compressor buzz loudly.

We need a video, user please make one.
will do over the weekend. i guess it must be a problem with something as only recently has it started to buzz loudly, it did not do so before.
  • I've been looking into the best way of addressing my severe condensation problems that I have been suffering from this winter. This has only arisen since draught proofing my house and installing ashp as the sole source of space heating.
I've decided that the 2 things I need to do are firstly increase the temperature of the inner window glass and secondly get the moisture out.

The windows... the north facing ones I hope to replace this spring with triple glazed units from Albo (Slovakian Manufactured) which have an overall U value of 0.9 W.m-2K-1
    That'll keep the glass nice'n'warm

Have you seen the way the hermatically sealed Passivhous deals with supplying fresh air to the occupants? (check out last weeks Grand Designs on Channel4 Website)
They use air to air heat exchangers at 90% efficiency to exhaust the stale damp laden air, nick all the heat out of it, and pull fresh warm air into the house. This is usually a whole-house system with ducting etc, but a skivvy around on Google reveals that Vent-Axia of all people produce a single room system too, and at a very reasonable cost. Pitched at asthma suffers so badly marketed.
    http://www.vent-axia.com/products/vacas/hr25.asp#powe
This compares well at 86% efficient heat recovery to the passivhaus system being only 4% less efficient - the German certified version of this product costs £750!
    http://www.passive-house.co.uk/product.php?product_id=39
    (but it is more powerful)
Why aren't these in use more often? Anyone got them in their property? What do you think will happen if it gets windy & cold?

    Steve,
I don't think your windows are the problem. By that I mean changing them will not remove the problem of high humidity in your house. The condensation on the cold windows are simply an indicator that the humidity is high.

Why not buy a simple dehumidifier? Initially it will remove lots of moisture as your walls, furniture etc are 'damp'. After a few weeks it will not be running a fraction of the time unless you do have a more serious dampness problem.
