Air Source Heat Pumps

I have a dismy air source heat pump. In the last 5 weeks it has been failing to provide heat to the house and the water is tepid at best. I have been trying to find an engineer that will come out and look at the pump but drawn a blank. The company that supplied the system no longer supply the make and will not help. I have been advised that the nearest engineer is based 300 miles away. Any part need to come from China and have a ten week lead in period minimum. So i have effectively no heat for the rest of the winter rest. I have been to the agent for dismy in England and had no help. Can anyone give me any guidance on this?
How long have you had the system?
I would consider taking the company to the Small Claims Court.0 -
The heat pump is a Dismy DAR 150ASPa2 U
I have run a check via the main control panel
The results are
C1 - -
C2 F4
A0 39
A1 41
A2 11
A3 9
A4 55
A5 10
A6 -40
A7 -40
If the main display panel shows heat mode then on the right I get the fan and compressor symbols and above that a set of wavy lines which I am informed is the defrost symbol. If I engage water and heat on the main panel I get just the fan and compressor symbol. Either way I get little warmth in to the heating and teh water is tepid.
I do have an electric in line boiler (Heatrae Sadia) but this cannot cope with the heating. I am currently using it manually to heat the water.
Any help from anyone would be v much appreciated. I am at my wits end0 -
Hi.
I cannot find the model you are quoting, just the DAR-150S2/P-C. Can you tell me what A2/A5 & A6 refer to as the online manual has not any info.As Manuel says in Fawlty Towers: " I Know Nothing"0 -
Rohouk.
The heat delta between A0 & A1 seems low at only 2C, it would normally be around 5C.
A7 confuses me a little as it is supposed to be ambient temperature. At -40 you are in the arctic circle!!! As there is no installer manual, can you alter the ambient temperature to say 0C?
You may need to get in touch with Dismy again and give them the readings above, to see if they can establish the problem. As Manuel says in Fawlty Towers: " I Know Nothing"0 -
This is not looking too good for your service back-up etc. The pump is " supposed" to have a 5 year g'tee, so you have that as a case. The company that hosts the UK site, seems to be just a wholesaler and nothing else. I may be wrong and hope I am.

I agree with Cardew, that you should be considering some legal action if you don't get a solution. As Manuel says in Fawlty Towers: " I Know Nothing"0 -
The pump is an older model than the manual that is showing on the Dismy website.
You are correct in your assumption that the site in the uK is for a wholesaler !. As for amending the ambient temperature, I havent got a clue how to do that.
My main worry here is that I have a large household here and they are all cold and fed up and we have no support from anyone. I just want to find someone willing to take the time to help and not be constantly fobbed off. I have no problem with the new technology - I work in the housing business myself - but the lack of support is horrifying0 -
Have no problem with trying to help, would just like to be able to see the installer manual.
Have you got thermostats shutting down the supply, or a buffer tank?As Manuel says in Fawlty Towers: " I Know Nothing"0 -
Just been looking at the manual that I have and it also has no reference to A5 or A6 !
C1 is Inquiry of Fault code - 00 ~ FF
C2 is Inquiry of Function Jump 00 ~ FF
A0 is Temperature of heating back -40 ~ 80C
A1 is Temperature of heating flow -40 ~ 80C
A2 is Temperature of System 1 coil pipe -40 ~ 80C
A3 is Temperature of System 2 coil pipe -40 ~ 80C
A4 is Temperature of DHW cylinder -40 ~ 80C
A7 is temperature of environment
The whole system is controlled by the room thermostats which determine the demand or call for heat. I have heatmiser digital thermostats and also a central control panel where I can set each room and check temperatures centrally etc. There is also a dismy control panel in the garage which displays temperatures etc.
I do have a thermal store cylinder which is also on the hot water system. I have checked all the pumps and gates etc and these are working ok
Could it be a circuit board fault if it is reading the environment temp as -40 ?0 -
Rohouk.
Am still trying to puzzle this one out, as the instructions are so poor. If you can, can you look at page 18 of the manual under v and give the running data. These will be D1 - D9 codes. Some are shown as blank in the manual I am going from.
The ambient temperature could be a room or outside thermometer sensor, so I am just guessing on that at the moment, it may not have been connected, so would stay at the minimum reading, especially if you have room thermostats etc to overide it, sorry to be so vague, but trying to work through this!!.
Have you also cleaned the filter on the feed side?As Manuel says in Fawlty Towers: " I Know Nothing"0 -
Your patience and assistance is really appreciated.
The table for running parameter is
code Content Min Max Default
d1 Temperature Span 4 9 4
d2 Max Temp Heating water flow 60 75 65
d3 Heat exchanger type 55 (plate) AA (other) 55
d4 Temp of melt frost model 15 25 15
d5 Time out of Melt frost model 5 15 8
d6 Control by temp of heating
flow or return
55 (heating return) AA (heating flow) 55
d7 Regular time of DHW 00 23 00
d8 min time between two melt frost 20(M) 50(M) 30(M)0
