London to Glasgow by day.
As for how Ryanair compares with the trains, take for example flying from London to Bari and spending 5 days there, compare with travelling by train and spending days in Paris and Milian en-route, with one day in Bari.

That's a fair bit cheaper by train! This is using cheapest advance purchase fares I could find. If you fly on days other than Wednesdays flying is even more expensive.
This is based upon Ryanair's timetable from 30th March 2008, the flight from Bari arrives at 23:30, warranting an overnight stay.0 -
Well I have been avoiding using Ryan Air these days...
I think Norwegian Air is one of the few lowcost airlines left that aren't unplesent to deal with. They don't overcharge. They give you free hand baggage of 15 kg and IF you want to check in baggage it's only €3 for each 20 kg bag (you can take 2 if you want) which is a pretty good deal to me specially if you get a great offer at €30 round trip to Spain etc..
At the moment they only fly to Edinburgh, London Gatwick & London Stansted but so far I've never had any issues with them
(And no..I don't work for them hehe :P)

Your comparing apples & oranges, I want 5 days in Bari so the hotel cost has to apply to both
Why does the ryanair price include a night in an airport hotel seing as how stansted-bari is a 17:00 flight0 -
But surely you price the flights on the whole price, so if Ryansir up the luggage price you use this when comaring against a company who do not charge for luggage, if the other lot are cheaper you go with them. Ryanair just have a different pricing model where by you get charged for what you use that in turn costs them money.
Bit like ebayers who jump up & down over postage prices that are clearly stated in the auction0 -

You'd think people would do that, wouldn't you? However apparently a lot of people posting on here think that any company charging anything is illegal, immoral, a 'rip off' blah blah blah..0 -
I can`t see what all the fuss is about
you know the price of your Ryanair ticket before you buy it
so if your not happy ,don`t buy it.
Simple as that.
The way people rant and rave about Ryanair, you`d think that they turn up at the airport not knowing how much they have to pay `til they get there.0 -
Well, I've seen some crap posted on here over the years but this post has to be one of the hottest, steaming piles ever!TimothyEBaldwin wrote: »London to Glasgow by day.

Bearing in mind we live 15 mins from Stansted Airport.......
To fly from Heathrow to Rome in June for my family of 4 if would cost £700 plus car hire on top making it around £800, for 1 week. To fly from Stansted, it will cost around £400 with car hire.
That's including all the baggage costs etc..
That's a good saving I reckon! Not to mention the petrol saving!
Why do people complain about the cost - if they don't like it don't book it. I checked the T&C's stating extra costs etc.. and I was still happy. Albeit a bit miffed about the cost of the taxes incurred, which tripled the price! (for just fights it would be just under £50!). But that's life nowadays, getting more expensive by the day. I just want to get to Rome, that's it.
Flying from Heathrow (or Gatwick) would not only hike my petrol cost up but it would hike the driving time up as well (and on the M25 that's not always good!).
If I could fly with anyone else that cheap I would, but that £400 saving means we can actually take the holiday and not worry about going over budget.Thank you to everyone who posts comps! :A
I would like to be lucky,healthy & happy in 2020! :T0 -
I make 1 return flight each fortnight to Europe, and booked a load of cheap seats last time Ryanair had a suitable offer on. My last flight from all those booked is tommorrow. I used them because they were the cheapest. I flew 38 times with Ryanair last year, and only had one delay - maybe I was lucky, but I personally cannot fault any of the flights.
I have just had to book my weekly flights up until September (32 flights in total), but have not booked any of them with Ryanair, simply because Easyjet was cheaper by the time all of Ryanairs increased charges were taken into account. I am unable to travel with just hand luggage, so have to pay for bags and online checkin with Ryanair. I object to paying to use the checkin desk, in reality with Ryanair it's £9.00 each way to check in a bag, but I would still probably book with them if they were cheaper, but they weren't, so I booked elsewhere. He also buys a coffee during the flight, so another £1.60,
A coffee no longer cost £1.60, it went up to £1.80 at some point in the last 6 months, in October it cost me £2.00, by December it cost me £2.10, and in January it went up to £2.15. Even the cabin crew were not aware of the price in increase in January and charged me just £2.10, when I explained to her that the inflight guide said a coffee was now £2.15, she apologised and told me it's a joke amongst the crew that the inflight refreshment prices go up each week and they can't keep up with them
I think increases like that are just greedy, I really do. 0
