I Really Hate Ryan Air And Easyjet As You Have To Fight For Your Seat Even If You Pay To Board First.
Sorry To Shout But It Makes Me So Mad .

spot on dmg, im certain most of the anti ryanair moaners dont actually fly with them or have hardly flown with them, because the service and the prices are incredible, i often sit there and think what do people want for next to nothing, i certainly dont see any moaning and hysterics among the passengers.

that last comment from ruthy14 about sums up the nonsense you read about ryanair, that you have to fight for your seat,

you will get your seat if you are last on the flight ruthy 14, trust me ruthy be brave and fly again with ryanair

What I hate isn't the price so much, although it rarely works out as a budget flight for me. It would be cheaper to fly into Manchester, but it would take me several hours to get home from there so I can grit my teeth and bear it.

Their policy on disability is appalling. I have trouble with my joints, although I look perfectly healthy and will not be using a wheelchair. The policy on boarding in Liverpool is that everyone has to line up for an average of 15 minutes. Fine, I can sit on the floor, until everyone starts shoving because they want a good seat. Then they start checking boarding cards, and sending people down the four flights of cold, draughty metal stairs. But you can't leave the staircase, and there's nowhere to sit.

My choice is either join the scrum and exhaust and hurt myself standing still in the cold, or else end up in a middle seat that's actively painful because there's nowhere to stretch my legs out.

Each time I fly with Ryanair I ask them if they can let me sit beside the gate and walk down and straight onto the plane when the line is moving, and each time they tell me I have to line up with the priority boarders and take my chances. And then several times they've scolded me for moving slowly.

I don't care if the ticket costs 1p or 1100 quid! If the airlines are selling the damn ticket they should give us the same respect as we do when we fork out our money to keep their butts in business.
If you keep raising the fee's for this and that no matter which airlines they are..people will flock somewhere else. Ryanair used to be pretty good I'll give em that but as of late..they take, take, take and if they screw up in any way..they usually take NO responsibility (I know from personal experience!).
I don't take Ryanair often but be it I take it 3 times a year or 300 I still have a right (as we all do) to express my opinions..

Thank you...we now take you back to your scheduled program lol. :P

sugarspun you are the sort of person who makes the situation worse, if you ignore the boarding system to suit yourself, you wind up other passengers and fustrate the gate staff, trying to jump the queue starts the shoving you detest

you should wait and sit in comfort and board last and then if the highly unlikely situation of there only being a middle seat available, you could ask nicely if you could bring yourself to do that and im sure someone would change seat for you

you bring the stress and discomfort on yourself

So why don't you inform them in advance when you book you ticet like they ask you to?

If you can manage with hand luggage only,a way around the 2 day rule for online check-in,is to print your boarding pass for the outward and then pay the check-in charge at the foreign airport.(was 3 euros, don`t know about now)

"Any passenger failing to present their printed Check N'Go boarding pass at airport security and the departure gate will be charged a airport check-in fee currently at the rate of £2/€3 per person (or local currency equivalent). This is only available if airport check-in is still open."

If Ryanair genuinely wanted 50% online check-in,they should allow you to print your boarding passes in advance, like Easyjet do.
With the 2 day rule in place,it certainly looks like just another money making scheme.

I do. And I remind them at check in. They've always told me that I have to either pay the extra and get in the line with the rest of the priority boarders or wait till the priority boarding is finished so I don't have to stand in the stairwell.

On the days when I can move quickly I get frustrated when stuck behind someone who's moving slowly so I try not to be that person in front of other people. What I usually do is wait till almost everyone else has boarded, but that means that the overhead lockers are normally full and so I end up with even less leg room.

I've only ever had this problem with Ryanair, and I do a fair amount of travelling on a few different airlines.

what a load of nonsense sugarspun, standing in stairwells, frustrated about people moving slowly, no room in the overhead lockers, no room to stretch your legs about

why dont you learn to live with ryanairs rules on boarding or fly with someone else, instead of being selfish and trying to beat the system and cause grief to the gate staff and other passengers

it can all be so relaxed and easy to board an aircraft, there are normally blocked off rows which you could move to after take off. i cant ever remember having to sit in a middle seat even though i have boarded last

do yourself a favour sugarspun and forget your battle with ryanair because they have changed the rules on boarding regarding disabled first and take the chilled out, comfortable easy option and spare a thought for other passengers and gate staff

you cant really think gate staff will belive your aches and pains when you havent paid for priority boarding do you, you think your aches and pains will get a cheaper flight and a better seat, it wont

    so get over it

Is there a reason you're annoyed because I don't like flying with Ryanair? I'm not saying *you* have to not like them.

I don't like cabbage either. I'd eat it if it was the only food available, but that wouldn't make me enjoy it. It's the same with Ryanair. If there was another option on the route I fly a lot I'd take it. Since there's not I fly with Ryanair, but that doesn't mean I have to enjoy it.
