You are hard on yourself, I feel inferior when I read your thread and you have cycled to work :o and last year doing the marathon runs etc...you may have stopped for a while but hey you still ran a however many miles last year and cycled to work and carried that on despite now having a car  that would never happen in my house, I would take the car round the corner :o

Why not ask on the DFW running thread if anyone there wants your running watch? You might get a fee free sale!

I am intending going out for 10 miles early in the morning, otherwise I am in serious danger of not fitting it in my day.......but the mere thought of running any distance at that time of the morning is, frankly, pretty scary!

I hope you mange to get a few miles in - it will soon feel as though you have never been away!

    Heya KM!

Hope you are ok! The only reason I cycle to work is cause I work at the Uni and the traffic is HORRENDOUS! Not to mention they charge £80 per year for the parking...probably not much per day but every bit helps! Sometimes people can be stuck on the roundabout for 45 mins just trying to get out onto the main road! I reckon I would go insane! Then would have the drive home along the traffic filled road until I got home and I can bike it in about 10-15 mins!

I am worried about the running as know that even with a few weeks break, it will take me ages to get back to my usual speed as it seems you can loose your fitness levels really fast :(

You will surprise yourself with the speed at which you regain your running ability - honest! Don't expect too much, set off steadily and just enjoy the fresh air.

That's an idea! No point me keeping it as I don't use it to it's full potential :o

Hope your run goes ok tomorrow! It is very hard to fit them in isn't it :( At least it isn't raining I suppose! Once I ran 14 miles in the pouring rain, the whole way round and I had only had 3 1/2 hours sleep as had been out the night before...man that was hell!

Well I will be aiming for an incredibly early night - normally I run in the evening, so a morning run really really really does seem as though I am taking this marathon lark just a bit too seriously! Of course, in a few weeks time, 10 miles will just seem like a jog around the block, but at this point in time it seems like a bloomin long way!

  • Donner they are obviously very sensible reasons for not taking the car but I am obviously not sensible and would rather wait in a cue for 45 mins than have to cycle so that tells you the level of my fitness  :o :rotfl:

So you have a far better attitude and motivation than me and also that cycling is helping you stay fit even if you are not running at the mo :D

That's what I as thinking...I said to my brother earlier, that the longer I leave it, the more money I would loose. I brought DD a Singstar game for her birthday, she used it on that day and hasn't bothered since! They are good fun when you have had a skinful but as that doesn't happen anymore I won't be singing in front of no one!!! :D
