Can't believe how quick this year has gone...doesn't seem like 11 months ago I was sat on the sofa with Martin! The driving was such a major achievement and buying little Mikey the Micra too...I love my little bubble car! Tomorrow I think I am gonna have a drink and toast myself for paying off all those cards! Onwards and upwards! :beer:skint_spice wrote: »Maybe you should look back on what you've achieved this year and give yourself a pat on the back... passed driving test, bought car etc and all this while reducing the debt!:T:j 'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts' - DFW Nerd member 866 :j0 -

Thanks BOB and Beanielou! Hope you guys and all fellow DFW's had a fab new year! Mine was awesome, which was much needed! Had a truly amazing time and have only just got home! Had a lovely meal out and I did drink rather a lot too! But seeing as I don't get out much and it was a special night that was ok! Spent all of my allocated money but hey, was worth it! Spent the last of it on a fry up for brekkie and haven't eaten since! Just feeling tired now and think I will try and get an early night!
I really did have a fab time and have a couple of days left before reality kicks in with work etc! Nice!
Hope everyones was as good as mine, I am very lucky to have such great friends and a lovely boyfriend too and is such a shame they all live so far away. I really want to make some proper friends down here in Bristol, might try and join a club or something to meet some new people? But plenty of time for that!
Am extra chuffed as have been thinking today about selling my Wii Fit game and my brother has managed to find a buyer already...for £60! I only used the thing once...Emily has used it a few times but it really was a silly purchase really! So that's an extra £60 to the card.
Have been trying to sort out my Quidco problem in that when I got AA cover for the car, the cashback should have been £40 but they only gave me £17! It was meant to change from £17 to £40 when the money came through but of course didn't! Was gutted as when I filed the problem the other day, they also then took the admin fee too so that's a fiver gone! But have a bit in there, should with the £40 total about £60 too so can't wait to get that and pay it to my card! That's a total of £120 already!!!
Have never claimed money via Quidco so hope it is easy! Am gonna get a few bits on Ebay too as feel like I am on a roll and that M & S card is gonna be looking good!
Righteo I am off to grab a bit of toast before bed! And catch up with what everyone has been up to!

Hello again!!
Glad you had a lovely New year...we were at my sister's in Weston, the girls all had a fab time together (my sis has 3 girls of 11,6 and nearly 1). Home today and got all the decorations away - my house is tidy and clean again:j
Well done with the wii fit - we have one and it doesn't get used much, although I must admit to getting it out last weekend when girls with their dad! I've threatened to sell it a few times, but they plead to keep it! (Also they paid half so I'd only owe them money if I sold it!!)
I've been very organised and got an new bank account to be my grocery and spending account, all dds and rent will come out of my other account. hopefully this'll help me see what 'extra' I have and I can start being like you and overpaying the debts;)
How's you girlie doing?? My 2 are good, even G been on best behaviour recently....I think it's school thats a bad influence on her!!!! Away from school and friends she's nice to me lol But again like you, I do find it hard to take - think it's particularly hard when you're on your own with them isn't it? I wonder what I'm doing wrong and if it's my fault she's cheeky etc....but I'm sure it's just the age....sure she could be a lot worse too. New yr resolution...be more understanding of the 12yr old hormones kicking in ! (Actually she's not 12 til May haha))
Anyway, enough rambling......keep updating on here:pI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Hi
Just to say, I've been using Quidco for over a year now and have never had any problems. Even managed to do some of the click throughs when I remember! The payments do take a while sometimes though.
Reading your diary has made me want to get more organised this year. I don't owe loads of money just a large overdraft and a bit on a Next Account but I never seem to pay it all off and start saving.
I also have a teenage daughter so know what you and millyscarlett are dealing with!!! All very frustrating sometimes.0 -
Hiya MillyScarlet!
Good to hear you had a fab one too! I am gonna take down the decorations later, should have done them a few days ago really but hard to motivate myself! They are deffo going today though! And then I am gonna have a bit of a clean up!
I am off to see my bro tomorrow and drop off the Wii Fit with him, ready to give to his mate. Hopefully it won't be long before I get the £££ for it...can't wait! It is hard as I know that Emily probably still wants it but I can't afford new games for it anyway so I know truthfully it will just sit there.
Well done on getting organised with the new account! That's fab! Good way to see what is left over too eh? I have felt a bit guilty abount not overpaying anything in December but I am gonna focus on the future, not the past...nowt I can do about it and need to give myself a break as it was Xmas after all!
Em's still being a bit on the moody side. She doesn't seem to have any emotions sometimes! Saying that though, she was watching the IT crowd on tele last night and she was laughing sooo hard, it was good to see some kind of emotion in her. She is back to being a grump today though! She wants to go to her mates party tomorrow but we need to get down to my brother's house and I can really afford yet another birthday present so she will have to give this one a miss. Not to mention it isn't even close by either...she has been to so many parties in the last couple of months, sure missing one can't be too bad? Hard to understand these kids...I thought what with me having her so young, that I would be able to relate to her better but I can't
Oh well, just gotta keep plodding on and trying my best I suppose...that is all I can do!

Not unless you were two when you gave birth! can't you remember when anyone even ten or so years older was completely out of touch?
One of my friends had her first two fairly young (late teens) and still had the moody grumpy teenagers like everyone else but the upside is that they do grow out of it (apparently) and they are really close now the girls are in their twenties. It's just nature doing it's bit so don't worry too much.:D
I was at another friend's the other day when her DD age 14 announced with a grin that her resolution for the year was to continue being a grumpy teenager... oh joy!Mortgage OP 2025 £7550/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000

Heya JC67!
Hope you had a fab new year!
Imagine the Quidco shouldn't be too difficult to sort out, I need to do more of the click thoughs though...I always forget!
It is a great feeling to get the overdraft sorted. That was one of my first things to do. Silly really as it was interest free at the time as I have a graduate account, but nice to see a plus amount in the account when I get paid each month.
These teenagers / tweens are something else ain't they! I swear I wasn't like that, well not as early on age wise anyway! Was thinking of maybe taking her to the cinema to see Twillight as a treat as we are only about 15 mins drive from Cribbs Causeway but dunno if the whingebag deserves it! But then I feel that maybe she would enjoy it and smile and be thankful but on the other hand no, she probably won't! They are very clever at making us feel guilty...grrrrr! xxx:j 'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts' - DFW Nerd member 866 :j0
