I was at another friend's the other day when her DD age 14 announced with a grin that her resolution for the year was to continue being a grumpy teenager... oh joy!

    :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: oh dear!

I do feel completely out of touch...it's horrible! I like to know where I stand with people but with her, I just can't!

Will be glad when she gets back to school. She is already whinging about having to go to see my folks as she reckons it takes soooo long in the car, it is only about an hour silly moo! She should feel lucky we can just drive down now and not have to get several trains like before!!! Gawd!!! xxx

  • Teenagers literally see it as their 'job' to be that way I think!

As for Quidco you need to set it to a payment method (I use bacs) and they automatically pay you at the end of the month when they allocate the payments.

And have you looked at the freebies board about getting free tickets for certain films, might be worth doing for treats for DD doing her 'job' well ;)

Happy new year by the way :D

Thanks guys! I imagine that this is just the start of it and it will be going on for several years yet :( It is horrible to see her seem so 'down' when all I want her to be is happy.

I will have a look into the bacs way as that seems to be the best way. I have opened an enquiry for the missing money and it says is it waiting to be sent but that the admin team have at least looked at it. I just want that money!!!

Will check out the freebie board in a mo. I need to do that more often really!

And a huge happy new year to you both too!!! Onwards and upwards :)

Have just packed the madam off to bed, very late I know! Will be making sure she gets to bed a lot earlier Saturday, Sunday and Monday night ready for when she starts back at school on Tuesday. She has a TTD on Monday so no school for her!

Have been trying to repair one of her jumpers...am rubbish at sewing but it doesn't look too bad so should be ok! Have had a NSD today as made foodies out of the freezer. Trying to use up a load of Quorn mince as I seem to have a few bags in there! I am not a veggie, just used to buy it when I was doing the slimming world plan and it has been in there ever since. Made a yummy quorn spag bol but Emily hated it...charming! I loved it and whacked the rest in the freezer ready to eat another day.

Am off to bed in a mo as plan to make myself get up early to go and see my bro. Wii Fit all packed up and ready to go. Emily sighed when I boxed it up but it was simply not worth keeping it. Have been finding it hard to get up in the mornings and am not looking forward to the early starts next week...rubbish! Will get up early on Sunday too and try to force myself out for a quick run. Will probably find that very hard as haven't run in a while but really want to get back on with it so will take it slowly to start off with.

Am gonna write myself a to-do list tomorrow as have lots of niggly things I need to get sorted. Need to get on with it!!!

    Nighty night all

    Hi Donna

I'm a big fan of to-do lists as a way of getting organised and sorting things out. I didn't make New Years Resolutions (like yours by the way!) but I thought about the areas of my life I wanted to work on and set some mini goals for the end of Jan. I want to lose half a stone, sort out my bedroom, pay off some of my overdraft (was £748 at the end of December!!!) and go out more often with friends.

Was thinking about teenagers today after my teenage daughter had a bit of a tantrum over something my OH said to her. Really they're a bit like caterpillars going through a massive change to turn into a butterfly. I reckon thats why they spend so much time in their rooms. Does that sound daft? And its no easier dealing with it when you do have a partner living with you 'cos children often try to play one off against another which just adds to the stress really.

Anyway hope you had a good day and managed to sell your Wii Fit. And hope you manage to get back into the running - I really need to do more exercise but so hard to fit in when you have children and work full time.

    Hiya JC67,

That mini goals thing sounds like a fab idea. That maybe better, to take smaller steps, more likely to stick to things that way I imagine too! Loosing weight malarky is sooo hard :( but so easy to put on :( I have been doing really well the last few days but it is difficult.

The caterpillar thing doesn't sound daft! Makes sense...just hard to think this is gonna go on for years and years! My DD is 12 but she is a very grown up 12 and certainly doesn't look 12! They are sooo sensitive aren't they! She has been quite well behaved today so that's all good!

Yep managed to shift the Wii Fit! Dropped it off at my brother's house and was lucky as the person buying it, popped over with the cash just as I was leaving so I have £60 to put towards the card, which I am gonna do in a bit! Along with whatever I have left over moneywise from Xmas!

I really hope to do a run sometime tomorrow if I can. I find it is hard to motivate myself as it is very cold out there but will try my best! I need to pop out to Asda and also do some tidying up too! I completely understand about the working full time and having kids stuff...never enough hours in the day as it is, without having to squeeze in exercise!

Have been having a think about more bits to sell on ebay and think I might sell my Playstation 2 and SingStar games / Guitar Hero as they still hold their price. They really are not being used much at all as we have the Wii and just means more slutter really and I also want to work as hard as I can to get rid of the M & S card! I am also gonna sell my running watch as it is mega fancy and I am not using it to it's full potential so would be best going to a proper runner! They are selling for quite a bit on ebay as suppose everyone wants to get fit!
