Hello,
Ive posted here a few times about our animals. I have posted a couple of times about my rabbits.
I have 2 netherland dwarf rabbits and one albino lop. The two dwarfs (Sunny & Hunny) are male and female, both are fully up to date with injections and have BOTH been neutered. We've had them since they were about 8 weeks old and are very friendly. When they were very small they use to lick our hands and faces etc and give us nudges! Now there older there alittle more interested in each otherbut they still do give us the odd nudge.
The albino lop is called BeBe and is female. She has had her injections but hasnt been done. We've only had her for about 2-3 months after rescuing her. She very shy but is very friendly when you hold her.
Because we didnt know what Bebe had (being an outside rabbit) we had to keep her seperate from hunny and sunny because they were indoor rabbits. So bebe lives in the garage. Because of the weather/earthquake etc shes been very scared of the noices etc. So today i decided to move a run inside so she can be use to household noices etc because shes been outside most of her life and when she comes inside she gets more scared. Now bebe is inside she gets more strokes and cuddles etc when we walk past. She seems very happy but.. due to another female in the room Hunny isnt very happy.
Hunny thumps alot now. They are appart from each other Hunny and Sunny live happily together and bebe is seperate. Im hoping for them to all get along so they can go in our huge run outside together in the summer.
My main question is.. is hunny annoyed at the presents at another female in the room? esp because bebe hasnt been neutered? If i get bebe neutered will they be peace in the room instead of thumping etc?! Sunny doesnt seem bothered but i have noticed that when bebe has a run around the room and goes up to the cage to sniff them hunny and sunny run around in circles trying to hump each other? then hunny trys to scratch bebe!
Please help, Hunny and Sunny dont seem to be happy with bebe but poor bebe is only trying to make friends! Hunny and sunny are actting like spoilt teenage snobs who are jealous! i still love them but they are being so sillylol
please help!?I'm getting married in August 2015:j0 -
Is there any reason why I cant use shredded newspaper in the litter tray?
I have loads of free paper from work.0 -
It really stinks when soiled!:happylove0

Best thing to use are wood pellets you will find them at pet stores, or at Morrisons look in the cat litter section they do a large bag for around £3.50.
My house rabbit seems happy with it.0 -
Your rabbit will probably eat the paper. Not sure how good for him the ink'll be, or the bleach used to make the paper white. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0

this is a house bunny too, will go to a bigger pet store than my local one which isn't much use unless you have cats/dogs.0 -
another thought, can it go in the compost heap?0

I'm sure the wood based litter, if used for rabbits can be composted as it's all vegetable matter really.
You are probably already aware but it is unsafe to use any form of 'clumping' cat litter, I get my wood pellets from Tesco - it does last ages too.
I did use waste paper from the shredder once when I'd ran out but even though changed daily, the smell was horrible. It wasn't very absorbant either and would stick to the bottom of the pan.
My rabbit does love a newspaper to shred though...and runs around carrying it looking like a big moustache. In fact, if he has a pile in his bed he tries to save it when I clean him out by running off with it and hiding it! :rotfl::happylove0
