I've done a top up today via BACS so we'll see if it gets added ok. I'm hoping it will sneak through without any problems.
If not, plenty more banks aroundI beep for Robins - Beep Beep

If you have an online Northern Rock account you can still add to the 6.9% bond with a Northern Rock transfer. I checked this with NR and have just completed a transfer this PM.
Good luck.0 -
It seems to be that the biggest problem is that the Northern Rock customer advisors are not all singing from the same hymn sheet so to speak!!So some people will be told to go ahead, and others put off.
Glad i kept my Northern Rock account open when all the panic was on last year,it certainly made it a lot easier to transfer over to the bond.0 -
It would seem logical for NR to allow cleared funds to be credited up to Wednesday to accomodate BACS transfers done before the issue closure was announced (ie those transfers actioned on last Friday morning).0

That would be Tuesday, not Wednesday.
BUT, don't expect logic. ;-)0 -
My friend opened his last Thursday with a deposit of £300. This morning we went to the NR branch in Kingston and we were told that as Issue 1 is now closed, he can't put any more money into it, and the only option is to wait for Issue 2 later this week, which offers 6.5%0

What will happen if the BACS doesn't go through? Will it reappear in my account in 3 days or will I have to wait another 3 days on top for it to be returned?0
