Many thanks Sue & Finallydebtfree for your kind replies. He has been having supplement drinks called Fortisip for ages now. They have a really high calorie content. In theory his weight should stabalise, but because he has bouts of sickness & diarrhoea, that's not always the case.
On good days he eats clotted cream, & really high calorie foods. He never got up yesterday, so hopefully today he feels better.:)

What a beautiful way to put it.
I was pleased to read about him having the Fortisip, anything like that can and will do him good. High calorie foods are great too. I do hope today was a better one for him. One thing he is so very fortunate with, is to have such a loving, caring family. One of the greatest gifts anyone could wish for him, wonderful.

Many thanks Sue for your kind reply. He managed to drive his car yesterday to the local shops. He wasn't out for long & his wife wheeled him around in his wheelchair for a while, but it cheered him up no end.

Hi all, Just wanted to say good luck in your races this year. I am running the Blackpool race on 02/07/08. Myself and 17 other ladies I work with did the race last year, and we had a wonderful time. We had a number of fundraising events at work (dress down day, raffle, daily cake stall, football cards) and I contacted all of our companies associates and raised over £3,500. We were in fact one of Blackpool's top fundraisers.
This year I am pushing more people at work to join up, as our office has expanded.
I'll see if I can post some of the pics from last years event...DFW #414, MoneySaver, Income Booster

Just an update. FIL has had 2 wonderful days, out in his wheelchair, enjoying the fresh air. He has gone for his chemo today, & his next CT scan is on the 27/02/08.
When he was weighed today, he had lost 1/2 a stone, so that's not so good!
Hope you are all keeping well.

not so good news about the weight loss but sounds like he has had an enjoyable weekend which was probably good for all of you
hope all goes well with the chemo today!
I have enjoyed the sunshine too, went for an 8 mile walk in the New Forest yesterday which was lovely! although I can feel it today! off for a gentle stroll this afternoonfinally debt free and want to keep it that way!!0 -
Hi Kirsty,
It's so good to have had the weather for him to enjoy, let's hope it stays fine so he can enjoy such days a whole lot more. A real shame about the weight loss, but maybe he's lost more in the way of fluid? I'm forever hopeful so can't help thinking of possible reasons, fingers crossed that it'll be up a little more next week.
Keeping fine here thanks. I see you are too K with that wonderful walk, we got up there last Monday and it was wonderful.

Wow K, bet you are worn out! Well done!
Lucky you Sue, I must visit the New Forset soon!
Thanks to you both, for your kind replies. Yesterday the hospital recommended a brilliant website for cancer patients. It is full of recipes etc! I've just ordered their free DVD. It looks good & I've printed off loads of recipes for my MIL.
