love this thread.
a slight varitation on twink hobnob's.
once i've made them i melt down some chocolate. either glaxay or cadbury dairy milk.( it is usually either of these as since being preg i find all other choc bitter) and once choc emlted i spread a little over on 1 side. and voila Chocolate hob nob's.
they are gorgeous and make a nice change. my daughter loves putting the choc bit on. well should i say my daughter loves licking out the bowl once it is empty, lol.0 -
hi,
thanks for all the effort you've put into this post sammy. it's really helping me see where I can reduce my budget further.
I was just wondering, your shopping is delivered monthly, ho wdo you store your fruit and veg to make it last as long as poss?
I put my carrots in the salad draw of the fridge with a cushion thingy in to stop them bruising, but I can't get my fruit to last very long at all.
Just wondered how you, or anyone else for that matter, store theirs.
Many Thanks0 -
would you mind changing the size of the font/colour? I really want to read your post but it's very difficult to see0

Hi All
Shelley crow - i wasnt sure if you ment my meal plan so ive changed the colour of it jsut incase it was that post giving you trouble and also the font size - hope its helped some.
Just to let you all know the news - i went to the doctors today and i have yet another cyst (this is my second now) ia lso have a nice marble size one on IN my shoulder blade - joy so yet more anitbiotics but the doctor said its better left to its own devices and to only take them if they become painful (these will reduce swelling) but if they change/more appear/more painful etc then come striaght back to him.
Vezb - I have some crates which have black bin bags in, which is where i tend to store the potatoes, (im an unfussy person and if they have sprouted slightly im not too fussed as long as their edible still) also i put the onions in another cupboard in then the rest i tend to jsut store in the fridge.
With the mushrooms though i tend to do a big batch cook jsut after the delivery, i make alot of tomato sauce and serve some into containers plain (ie tomato and onion basically) then the other i put in mushrooms. Then i have tow lots, I also tend to make alot of shepherds pie too as bf occassionalyl takes this to work - especially in winter when its cold.Time to find me again0 -
:T Great thread. Truly inspirational.
many thanks for all the effort you've gone to to post all your ideas on here. I'm going to try them out - especially the baking (my DS is 3.5 yrs and would love to 'help' I'm sure).
Thanks a lot0 -
Sammy Kaye, this thread is great. Re. mushroom, I picked up a tip on the grocery challenge thread: I now buy mushrooms and chop them up (quite big ) then put them in portions in bags and freeze. I have done this a few times and it works brilliantly, you don't even need to cook them before freezing, and you don't need to thaw them before cooking either!!-as I said, it was a tip from the grocery challenge, and I can't remember who posted it.
