Hi Sammy, well done and thanks for posting this.
I am in a similar situation and hoping to get my budget down to this level. my Feb GC target is £130 and my family is the same as yours (I have a 3 year old ds too) except that I have a 1 year old dd to factor in.

I just wondered, you say you have lots of stuff in stock, has this been bought previously when on offer - reduced / BOGOF etc and how is it budgeted for? do you include it in your £100 or do you have a separate budget for things you buy say quarterly rather than monthly?
sorry if this has already been answered I have only had time to read the first page.

Prices can vary depending on location; prices can vary depending on the shops/resources available; prices can vary (quite considerably sometimes) depending on portion sizes. And let's be really honest, portions vary depending on whether you are feeding toddlers, tweens, adults or teens! A recipe "for four" could well be a recipe to feed 12 toddlers or even interpreted as a recipe for 1 if you are feeding a teen ;) (quoted by big-board).
That's absolutely right big-board, thank you for your input, perhaps you would like to post a monthly money saving spend, complete with all the bits you might think are missing and with all price variations etc. I think sammy_kaye, you have (and indeed are doing) done a fantastic job so far, you are truly inspirational. Your thread will take some beating, however, I am looking forward to big-board sharing her wisdom with us too. as I am sure are the rest of mse followers.

    Hi tattycath,

I have removed the post by that user as he was just copying the words from Queenie's post here. He regularly posts like that on this and other boards, I suspect it is to draw attention to the link in his signature. He's been reported.

Thank you Pink. When read in context it makes sense, but when I read the 'extract' out of context it just didn't sit well with me and looked like someone was having a dig at the OP, who has obviously worked very hard to produce all the info. Incidentally I didn't even notice his sig. lol

    Hi All

Thank you much for the nice comments - I sometimes look at the menu plan and think it looks a bit bland and boring but its not so bad and we do get diversity. Plus occassionally my mother in law will feed us at lunch if we are vivisting etc and like i said makes rhubarb crumble which occupies the bf for a few snacks!

Am finally off to the doctors today - this bloody lump is still there and annpyign me now so figure ive left it what 4 days so think its time to get it checked out. Fingers crossed...............but yet i always tend to think the worst so im relieved when a nicer conclusion comes through.

Anywho soemone asked about the stock i already had. Last year when time allowed and if money was ok (say i saved on an item - ie if it was reduced etc) i would put the money i should still have spent into one of those saver card books in stamps if it equated a pound. Then at the end of the year i looked at how much i had and brought more basics in. The toilet roll and nappy stock that i got last year was brought with my vouchers - i know i should save them for 4x the value but i never do.

Ive joined all the clubs, the healthy living, the wine club (althogh i dont drink) the baby club, the good food club - they all offer extra points vouchers. Plus the healthy living tends to be on fruit and veg alot and it all helps when i get a usually much needed token at the end of the month

Am hoping that in spetember i will be better off as little one starts full time school so fingers crossed again i can get a job with more hours that works around him although havent decided yet if hes going to have dinners or packed lunches yet!!!!!
    Time to find me again

I thought you were calling Queenie "big board" :D and thought I had missed something. His post had gone.

Congratulations SK on sharing this. I'm sure it has helped and encouraged a lot of people to try harder.

P.S. You can also add coconut to the Twinks and they are Anzacs. :D
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

thanks for explaining about your stash. I think the vouchers is a really good idea.
I also like the idea of joining the clubs. I have just got DH a clubcard so will have to sign him up too.

wow just had to pop in to say have made the hob nobs, i too made them to big at first but everyone still liked them and i made my 2nd batch yesterday (smaller) as i went in the tin to get one and they had all been eaten, i must say this has been an inspiration to me, yesterday i also made my first loaf of bread it was from bread mix but its a start, and i also made ciabatta bread and pizzas, thanks for the idea, delicious reminded me of a certain hut resterant, and also in tesco i bought a big bag of ciappatta flour (cheap) i was amazed at how easy they were to make, planning to do a load this week to stick in freezer, thanks again and im hoping i can keep up the good work as its nice to be able to feed your kids properly xxx
