I've tried Vista but went back to XP as I found I had more control over what my machine can do in XP & I don't have to keep asking it's permission to do things.Winnings

But there should be no security issues upon release, its like paying for damaged goods.
Edit:
As Lucifer just said, XP is more user friendly, especially for PC Noobs.0 -

Isn't "no security issues" basically the same as saying no bugs and yet the first thing we were taught in software engineering was it's impossible to provably make software bug free. Yes even the typical "hello world" line of code you can't ever prove it's bug free, so I think they're doing pretty well for the millions of lines of code. I don't know of any software that's been released fully working without any flaws (security or otherwise)."She is quite the oddball. Depends when you were taught this ( I maybe slightly older )
But I mean its quite amazing that a new OS has been developed and not tested properly, thats why Uber geeks report problems within days of a release if they spotted them why didnt MS?
Im not bashing MS at all it just bugs me why someone would pay for something thats a bit broke.
I was going to say something else but my memory isnt that good theese days :rolleyes:0 -
I agree but IMO Vista is the best effort Microsoft have made so far, maybe next time it will be perfect! From memory I don't think that meany security updates have been released for Vista.
There again has any OS ever been released that was guranteed to have zero security issues? It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -

Have to say the games graphics weren't spectacular on the difference engine."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

The problem is all new OS releases will have bugs, security issues etc that have not been identified upon release.
Some of these bugs are only identified in real world usage once a OS has been released.
MS cannot test every Hardware/Software configuration going. Its impossible and what your suggesting would mean we would never get a OS release in 10, 20 etc etc years.
Im running Mac OS X Leopard and Ive had numerous bug fixes and security issue updates for the OS. Same goes for any other OS.
So its not a MS only issue.0
