yet another whinge at the truly awful Vista thing.

Its about time you all got over slagging Vista off. I've been running Vista since it was released and have never had any problems. Vista is far more stable and secure than XP was on its release. So grow up and stop blaming MS when your PC isn't working how you think it should :mad:Don't listen to the bad things about Vista its the best
Just because it's free don't mean it's good
Ditch Norton Now !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :wall:
Just Because you read it some where don't mean it's right

I have to say my experiences with Vista have been positive so far. No problems with drivers, old games work and no real issues with any other software.
The on thing I wouldn't do is upgrade an older PC to Vista but on a modern system I think it's fine. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -
i'd have to agree....I upgraded to vista on an old AMD64 system and had nothing but hassles/crashes/BSOD etc etc...recently bought a new PC (quadcore) with vista home premium installed and so far no major problems have come to lite it seems a lot slicker than the older system ever did and stuff is done a lot easier now...i'm not as stressed screaming and shouting at the old system!...although do I likevista? hmm its a tough question...maybe come back in a few months and ask again...i'll probably be still happy with it :rolleyes:We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0

I upgraded my 2/3 year old PC to Vista. Although I can't use all the features as my Graphics card is crap, I really do like Vista. It is really slow, but I have managed to slightly sort that out by stopping a load of the services that were running in the background, that I really didn't need. After having a look, I noticed that there were several Symantic services running - even though I uninstalled Norton months ago! I'd check stuff like that out!0

Yeah and by this time you thought MS would of got the security flaws fixed , I suppose Vista is OK if you want to have more bells and whistles and the awful wmp110 -
Out of interest which specific security flaws are you talking about?
I've used WMP11 a few times and had no issues but then I normally use VLC or Media Player classic instead whether I'm on XP or Vista. It's my problem, it's my problem

Just the usual flaws that are their before a service pack comes out, just like all MS OS, why release any OS that is basically no good from the start when security is concerned, its like buying a new car and driving around only to be told the brakes will be fitted next week.
I dont understand the MS philosophy they seem to be the only company who can get away with selling imperfect goods.
And wmp11 is awful thats why you use VLC
or MPC because of the lack of codecs, a naff equalizer, bad visuals and is a bit of a hog to say the least. 0 -

I wouldn't upgrade mine, but that's only because it wouldn't cope. And that's no different to an old pc I had that I wouldn't upgrade to XP because it wouldn't run properly. But I don't hear people advising to "upgrade" to 98 from XP. Analogously the reason it wouldn't work properly was a driver issue, which I lay firmly at the feet of the motherboard manufacturer's responsibility and attitude. Which is just like a lot of "problems" with Vista, it's actually problems with the hardware and other software manufacturers who can't be bothered doing anything about supporting their products with new OSes and that's always been the case with every new OS. Vista isn't new or unique in that."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

To be honest I think Vista has had far fewer security issues in it's first year than XP did, I've even read reports where it compared favourably with Leopard.
Fair enough about WMP11 but then I've never really used whatever versions were/are on XP so it's not a WMP11 specific thing for me.It's my problem, it's my problem
