The Great 'Cheapest & Best Internet Dating' Sites

I have totally given up on online dating, which is a shame. I found that too many women message you and then after a few messages they just stop. I've had women message me and want to meet right away and others who just seem to want penpals. i found the best sites were paid sites. I tried eharmony though and that sucked. Plenty of fish was a total waste of time because the women there seem totally apathetic against guys because of all the jerks that send cut and paste emails.
I do agree that many guys are probably looking to to get laid but women have far more choice online than men so I guess they can be fussier. OK Cupid isn't bad, just got chatting with a very nice lady but sod's law, just not looking for a woman right now!
Anyway, good luck to everyone, hope you find your 'one'.0 -
I've been using POF (Plenty of Fish) on and off for a few months now. I notice, no matter how long I've been off it for, it's the same people using it time and time again. Lot's of serial daters. As a 'newbie' on the site you get bombarded with messages from the same guys over and over (fresh meat effect). I also think a lot of people are looking for something that's a bit unrealistic to, e.g guys are looking to pull someone younger. It's like looking for the proverbial needle in a haystack. I wonder what percentage of people actually find someone suitable with which to sustain a relationship? My guess is not very high"...and in the end, the love you take, is equal to the love you make".0

POF is rubbish, full of fake profiles, lots of the girls unfortunalty go into negative mode due to the sex pests who frequent them.
The genuine people lose out big time on there.
OKCupid I've just signed upto so its a wait see know0 -

You can rate people according to how attractive you think they (or their personalities) are - not too weird, right? But all the ratings you're given contribute towards decided how you appear in search results. If you're consistently rated as attractive (4 or 5 stars) you eventually get an email to say that you're attractive and you will have access to better looking matches in your search results. So when an attractive person searches, they only get pretty faces in their results. Likewise if you're consistently rated as unattractive you will be given less attractive people as matches - although for some reason they don't send you an email to let you know! TBH I find that bit kind of creepy.
Yikes! Whatever happened to beauty only being skin deep eh? That might explain why I didn't think much of that site after putting up a skeleton profile with no picture to have a mooch - no one voted me attractive so I guess I only saw the bottom of the barrell!
Can anyone tell me on match.com - is there a difference in the number of profiles you can see depending on whether you've paid or not? Everyone says it's the best site but after creating a free profile and having a look at my area, I'm not too impressed with what's on offer, compared to POF. But would that all change if I coughed up?Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -

I'm not sure whether anyone will be able to answer that q with any certainty. Yes, the so-called "matches" do seem to be rubbish, but what I do know is that the more you are online, the more exposure you get to matches, even if you get no views whilst online (as reflected by the number of views you get when you log back on again afterwards). You may find that it's worth logging in and keeping the site active in the background whilst using other applications.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

What a load of rubbish....POF is a free site so what is the point of putting up fake profile.Fake profiles are usually found on sites that charge, they are used to encourage you to renew your subscription when its nearing the end...0 -
I've been on POF on and off for a while but I'm losing faith. Too many messages from the same men. I'm starting to think to my 'Are these the type of men I'm destined to be with?' If so I'd rather just get loads of cats and live in a tree house for the rest of my days.
Anyhow a few of friends have met their current partners on Guardian Soulmates. I'm tempting to join but the high monthly fee puts me off. MMmmmm I wonder if the saying you get what you pay for rings true when it comes to dating sites?0 -

Lol @ cats and tree house! :rotfl: I'm thinking exactly the same Northern. In fact for the first time in a while I'm not on any dating sites, and feel more relaxed about what happens now in regard to relationships - que sera sera and all that. I'll maybe jump back on the merry go round sometime in the future, but I guess, right now, I'm slightly disillusioned. Hey, maybe by not chasing love, it'll find me."...and in the end, the love you take, is equal to the love you make".0 -
Personally I would say I there is an advantage to a paid site, yes there maybe less profiles but they are all serious about it, I say this as you aren't going to go on a paid site to mess about as its actually costing you something.Have my first business premises (+4th business) 01/11/2017

Got to say I think the opposite....Think on the paid sites there are fake profiles which try to attract attention especially when renewal is due
Any site run by whitelabeldating should be avoided at all costs as they are renown for this practice0
