Got my chicken casserole cooking away in the oven........enough to feed four..........and they'll just be two of us. It should keep okay till tomorrow to be re-used shouldn''t it ? Hope so..........it''ll make an easy dinner for me (hate cooking) but don;t want to end up with food poisoning when I'm off to Mums on Wednesday.....................lolMary

Yes it will be fine Mary. Just cool it quickly and get it into the fridge for overnight. When you reheat it must be piping hot right through:DYou never get a second chance to make a first impression.0

Disaster with the meal planning! Planned on savoury mince pies, using up the pastry in the freezer. Made some cheese and marmite puff pastry nibbles with the trimmings. Guess what? Its not puff pastry! Its sweet shortcrust! I've had to pick it all off the uncooked mincemeat and have got some mash defrosting. Going to turn them into shepherds pies for tomorrow night as can't be bothered faffing about tonight as feel like poo. OH is at the chippy as I type!0

Hi all,
I haven't had a chance to read the thread yet and haven't posted to say hi in over a week but I needed somewhere to go AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!
:mad::mad:
This morning I headed out nice and early as I was due in Nottingham to be on a course, I filled my car with petrol and then realised my car is a diesel!!!!! And indeed has been for the past 4 years that I've driven it.
This one error has cost me the grand total of £205 and the very horrible feeling that it was all my own fault. I have never ever felt so silly.
Anyway my OH is being very unsympathetic and I just needed to get it all out.
So sorry that I've just dived in and no commented on all of you. So I hope you are all ok today and (((HUGS))) if you need them.
Thanks for letting me rant.Wandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...0 -
Oh loumac what a trial............and with OH being so unsympathetic........be different if it had been him I bet. He's probably having one of those 'masculine gloats' that mine has sometimes when I do something wrong and it's no-one fault but mine.
Well my chicken casserole is all gone !!! It looked like it would feed four till I dished it up and then two plates were filled and none left for tomorrow. As I'm still 'head chef' then I'll have to get some more veg (unless we've got some frozen brussels tucked away-have to check on that.) Everything else is here, steak pie (albeit it Somerfields) and potatos. Don;t want to have to get too much...........having hair done -real treat that is - then stuff to do/get ready to take to Mums on Wednesday. Last thing I want to bother with is food shopping ! Got some freebies to collect..............coupon with Sunday Express for free 'Bone Health Calcium with Vitamins D & K' it says. Mind you our branch of Boots is so small I bet they haven't got them................lol
Not heard of Vitamin K before...........Mary

Hi Loumac. I kinda know how you feel. A friend of mine once did that-it's an expensive mistake. i may not have done that myself but we all make daft mistakes and we just know 9 times out of 10 our lovely OHs are going to be totally unsympathetic!! I hope you feel better after your rant. Look on the bright side-things can only get better.GE 36 *MFD may 2043

Just seen the news with all that wood from the container ship along the south coast, might have a ride along to have a look in the morning.
Had dinner, chicken pie, leftover from yesterdays roast, thats 8 meals from one chicken and I still have soup to make, I left a bit of cauli on my plate after dinner and OH said 'do you want to keep this to make up 10 portions of veg soup' :rotfl: :rotfl:
loumac sorry to hear about your car, a friend of mine once did the same.

Hi again...well it's true what they say about today being the worst day of the year.
After last nights fiasco with the water being off from 7pm to midnight, without warning, I got a call to go into work this morning. As Mr Twit was working, I had to send Miss Twit in a taxi
Work was ok, so I came home...got soaked scampering to my car....had my late lunch changed the soggy trainers and trousers and off to my Mon eve job.
When I got home, Mr Twit was playing about with the boiler again....so we now have water, but no heating or hot water, oh and I've had a phone call, I'm working again tomorrow.
Anyway..enough moaning...
Hester, your school sounds like a dangerous place to work.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
Oh dear you lot
Well, busy weekend with the boys and busy day at work so not up to speed. However, having to go to page 2 is not what I expected!
Feeling really tired so off to bed. Love and great big hugs to those who need them.
