((scuzz)) sounds really nasty!
mioliere - do you have a college near to you that trains hairdressers? Our local college does and it's an economical way of getting a good cut; takes a bit longer than going to the hairdressers because they are supervised and take things at a slower pace. Might be worth a thought.
Aussie - that's great news for your DD; hope the move goes smoothly
cat - hope you feel better soon. Good luck with your healthy eating, are you still using your pedometer?

Hello and a lovely good morning,
very tired here from the weekend. Had a serious attack of homesickness on Saturday and still feel a bit down about it all. DD was very grumpy - no doubt due to a molar coming out at the back... ouch.
Am at work and so want to be at home. 6 months of DH being in charge has left my house in a state of disarray. Every night I either do a translation job or I do chores, but I just can't keep on top of it at all. Am really depressed about it. Before I went back to work I was on top of everything, I only needed to bits and bobs everyday and it was fine. sigh....
On a positive note I started to crochet a blanket daybed cover for DD, it's coming along nicely.0 -
morning all
went to a wedding at the weekend beautiful day it was in a hotel in castle donnington river at the side of the hotel badly swollen and had covered half the carpark, they had flood defence barriers either side of all the doors - like metal 'H' shaped things about 18inches high if the river got too high then slid aluminum bars into them with rubber edges to seal the doorways.
overspent at the weekend but not badly and it will hopefully help me start next week i front of myslef emergencies excepted i wont need to shop again this week- milk money, dinner money and school clubs money is already put by.SPC~12 ot 124

Good morning everyone.
Sorry to hear all the bugs are still alive and well. Taplady I had vertigo a while back and it felt horrible. Dizzy but also as is my world had fuzzy edges. Spent ages waiting for it to go away and worrying what it could be. 1 quick trip to the doctors and tablets for 1 weel and all gone. Apparently the pressures in my inner ear were out of kilter.
Well have not been posting cos things have been hectic as we prepare to go back to Spain. We shall be so sorry to leave this weather behind!!!!!
We are on a mission to reduce our life in general--- waists, expense you name it. So second car sold. Freezer challenge on the go and general ebaying, charity shop runs etc etc.
Had awful news about DD2's car crash before Christmas. It was bad enough that she wrote our dear old Volvo off and scared herself witless. Now a company called Accord has written to her asking for all her insurance details as they want to put in a claim for damage to the crash barrier. They have got the wrong date for the accident and no-one (police etc) came out to the scene of the crash. So how do they know its all down to her. She was just being ultra honest and informing the police as no other cars were involved. Goodness knows what will happen to her premiums next year as she is only 20.
Have a good day everyone DOH needs me to help with the housework !!!!Try and do a good deed every day.0 -
Thanks for all the well wishes for my eye. Yes it is actually the eyeball which has split. I cut it two years ago with a finger nail - I was putting headphones on and missed! Work don't seem keen on the idea of me leaving, so stuck here until my colleague gets back as she'll go nuts at them:D
We've two office loads of people here today and they all think I'm having a deva day as I'm wearing my sunglasses indoors in the middle of winter:p
Had a free breakfast this morning. It's farmhouse breakfast week so I called a local lady, who brought in loads of local produce and cooked it up for the office - all promotion for her cause! Had sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs, pancakes, rolls, mushrooms and lots of chuntneys oh and porridge too. So lovely!! So I won't need to eat for a while. Will stick today's sarnie in the fridge ready for tomorrow.
Also salvaged envelopes for stamps to give to charity. :TComping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -
Hello all,
I haven't read the thread yet, will do so in a minute.
Right now I wish OH would !!!! off - he has spent the whole morning on the phone ranting away to someone or other, and every time I move to another room to get away from it, he follows me!! GO AWAY! I woke up this morning to him ranting on the phone (he couldn't have shut the door ) - I wouldn't have minded but when I wanted to watch Kingdom last night, he was on the phone all the way through that as well - we have a cordless phone and a massive house and garden, why couldn't he go somewhere else to talk on the phone
Anyway, not sure what I am doing today. So far I have not been called into work, although I expect I will soon.
I am going to hop in the shower in a minute, lets hope OHs voice can't follow me down there :rolleyes:We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
Waah! Another member for the poorly OSers I'm afraid! Taken the day off work - at least I'm going to have a no spend day today:rotfl:
And I'd never thought I'd see the day when I'd regret missing my Monday lunchtime Fitball class. Anyway, off to curl up on the sofa with some DVDs and whatever food I can keep down:rolleyes:
Virtual hugs (so as not to infect[;)]) to everyone and I hope it stops raining for you soon!0 -
Good morning everyone
Didn't sleep well last night - things rolling around in my mind - wish i could switch my brain off sometimes.
Off to my cousins house after picking the kids up from school for a little party which should be nice. Had a bit of a blitz on the kitchen yesterday so its looking good at the moment!! Off to put some washing on in a mo then a catch up on the comp board.
Hope everyone has a good day

Good morning all!
Well I'm absolutely shattered. Just not sleeping well at all I go to bed, toss and turn and finally drop off, just a couple of hours before I need to be up I always used to be such a good sleeper. Anytime, anywhere, I could just close my eyes and I'd be zzzzzzzzing in minutes:rotfl: I suppose it'll all come out in the wash:D
Not raining in London, but I think some is expected later. Feel for all those on flood alert, it must be horrid to feel so vulnerable yet know there is nothing you can do to stop it.
Aussie, just think once DD has gone, you and DH will have even more time for all those romantic interludes:p Just make sure when she's packing that half your home doesn't *accidentally* get packed too. When DS1 left, it was amazing the items he was *sure* were his from his university days.:rotfl:
dlb, well done with the stop smoking!!! You really have done the hardest bit now. The physical addiction will be really waning, it's the mental addiction that you're fighting now. Can you tell I'm another that has managed, nearly two years:D Next year you'll be posting how if you can do it, anyone can;)
Well best get off, I want a quick look round, and if I sit here too long, i can see me nodding off.
Had scrambled egg on toast for brekkie, and have absolutely no idea about food for the rest of the day:rolleyes: Never mind, something will happen.
