Morning.
Scuzz, that sounds nasty
The cold water is back on properly this morning, so at least we can wash
I have parcelled Mr Twit off to work in the pouring rain, his van wouldn't start, so he ended up having to jump start it from the car. I wondered what he was messing about with.
I need to go and put my wheelie bin out, getting wet will teach me for not doing it last night.
Off to visit MIL this morning, I'm going to sort out her tax return and she'sgoing to try and teach me how to crochet.
Hugs to all

Good morning everyone!
Donny - it's chucking it down in Yorkshire - no running for me today DH and I went for a walk along the river yesterday, and the river is higher than we've seen it for years. Water was seeping through the flood banking in several places, and had broken through at one point  Very scary for some of my friends in the next village who were badly flooded in 2000
Some good news - the big house opposite us has changed hands recently, and the new owners are spending a lot of time and money improving it. Over the weekend they had a group of tree surgeons in to remove five 20+ foot Leylandii conifers :j :T It's really improved the view from my kitchen window, made it less gloomy, and I can now admire their house while I'm at the sink
Vegetable risotto for tea, bread to make and a cake to ice. I also have some fabric for a blind, and my knitting
Have a great day, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -

Right, I am trying to be positive, so will not mention the weather
I was so fed up with it this morning, that I asked DH whether we coud emigrate, but he said we are too old and no-one will have us
Work today, so cheating and taking some Aldi vegetable soup, it is lovely, really ribsticking. Leftover chicken in a sauce for tea. You're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
morning all,
can't see what the weather is doing yet as its too dark, need to do a wash today, the usual tidy round, put dw on hoover, mop the floors etc, need to change DD's bedding. I will also send a E-mail of complaint for the opticions.
Got a friend coming for coffee later, as she has some news to tell me, can't wait to see what it is.
Going to make a chicken and brocol pie for tea, make stock from the chicken bones, for soup and pasta bake for DD's lunches this week.
Dont the online shopping last night so that's nornaly a monday job, also sat up and watched the messiah, which was quite violent, and then could not sleep, so will have to make sure I do not have a nap today or I will not sleep tonight
Scuzz, is it your eyeball that has split  , take it easy, perhaps you should have had the day off xx
Aussie good luck to your DD xx
Have good days all xx0 -

Is it raining everywhere except Surrey?? Looks quite dry outside my house and it didn't rain yesterday either. Maybe it's all heading this way so you guys will have better weather later!
I usually find it pours really hard when I' doing the school run as DD and Ds's schools are a few minuteswalk apart and easier to walk then drive and you cn get soaked through sometimes in those few minutes!! (Ihate that feeling of wet knickers!!)0 -
morning all,
, also sat up and watched the messiah, which was quite violent, and then could not sleep, so will have to make sure I do not have a nap today or I will not sleep tonight
I watched Messah too it's always a bit like that but I had hubby with me and was snuggled in bed so I could hide under the covers for the scarey bits!! I also was trying to do a sudoku as it stops me getting the nibbles in the evening if my hands are busy! (trying to lose weight!!)0 -
Morning All
(((Scuzz))) hope it heals asap
Not raining here at the mo but it is incredibly mild.
Today will be emptying the washing and ironing baskets and rest of the time in the office doing 3 weeks worth of wages and invoices - should be fun.
No idea what is for dinner tonight as only have to worry about cooking today and tomorrow - will be something out of the freezer and with chips probably. I know I am making caulifower cheese for lunch & hopefully it will do for tomorrows lunch also.
Am very pleased as it appears that I have lost 4lb since 3/1, this might not seem a lot but I have only made a couple of changes to my diet - hope it continues. Will be hard when in Orlando but am hoping all the walking cancels out the extra calories!
Best be off now, have a good one.

Oh, SCUZZ, that sounds dreadful. You poor thing.
(((Hugs))) to AMIE - hope you start feeling better soon.
All this talk of the weather; it didn't rain here at all yesterday despite being told it would, yet my Mum, who lives about an hour or so away in Wiltshire says it hasn't stopped. Even the post wasn't being collected due to the water running down the road. Luckily, she doesn't get flooding. I feel so sorry for those at risk, especially those who are still trying to get back into their homes. DONNY - that is absolutely awful for your neighbours. They shouldn't have to put up with inferior workmanship - it's their home, after all. I hope they are logging everything they're not happy with so that, once they finally move back in, they can get things put right. I can't believe the insurers would treat people who have been through such a lot, in such a bad way. After all, most of the time, the insurance companies are quids in with all the premiums we pay. I have only had to claim on mine once but I don't object to paying all the premiums; it's supposed to be reassuring to know that things can be put right and, if one person never has to claim, it leaves more money to help those who need it. Most of the time, they'll do anything to avoid paying out and make people feel dishonest at the same time. I've known people go through a nightmare having to prove that what they are claiming for is genuine when it is so obvious that it is. Rant over but, well, it makes me cross.
I've just looked out of the window and the skies look full of rain so I think we'll get what we should have had yesterday. I hope it doesn't start until all the children are at school. It's blowing a gale out there as well so I don't think I'll risk hanging any washing out.
DH left for work about half an hour ago. We didn't have a good night's sleep because DH woke up about one o'clock because he could hear a monotonous banging sound which sounded like it was coming from inside the house. We both got up and had to hunt round until DH opened the bathroom window - which overlooks next door's bathroom, and the noise was coming from their cellar pump which hadn't switched off. DH gave me a detailed explanation of how it all works - as if I cared, at that time of night! - but the neighbours must have heard it and it stopped as soon as it started. Then it took us about an hour to get back to sleep. So, feel an afternoon nap is on the cards.
I must make a concerted effort to find another hairdresser now that my lovely lady has closed down. I'll try today to see if I can have a trim without an appointment. DH got his hair cut on Saturday and tried to convince me to get mine done there but they insist that you have your hair properly washed in the salon - even for a trim - and then, because I won't pay for a blow-dry (my hair is long and dead straight and no styling has ever worked on it) you end up having to make your way home with wet hair. Anyway, I'm on the hunt for a hairdresser like my last one who knew exactly what to do!
Well, I'm going to get cracking on some paperwork while I wait for the BM and the WM to finish.
See you all later and I hope you all manage to keep dry.
