Enjoyed my slow cooked joint of lambe so much last week that I have just bought a joint of beef to put in sc tomorrow-yum
I had to go pick eldes DD up early today. Really bad migraine-suffered with them for 6 years!!! She was absolutely sobbing her heart out when I got there. She's been sick twice and is in bed sleeping it off (i hope. There have been occasions when she has been persistently sick and still had a migraine all night and most of the next day. I hope to God that this is not going to be one of them, as she is inconsolable.
Better go and check on her.

Well, getting on, little at a time.
Sorted out more or less what to take when I go to see Mum on Wednesday (also have to make list -medication, phone charger etc. else I'll forget..lol)
Filled charity bag that came with my unwanted curtains -couldn't get everything in so I'm afraid I sneakily kept some odd pieces of material.......think I might have a go at covering shoe boxes with some for Christmas. It's a lovely dark green with markings on -thats my excuse for now anyway.
Topped up re-cycling wheelie bin -bin men come tomorrow and be dark when OH gets home.
Took washing out of machine and hung on the airer -more to go in now !

Just got dinner to get..........been putting it off. Hate tearing the chicken carcas to pieces. Still, easy dinner, got some prepared veg (just as well as I thought we'd got some leeks and we hadn't!) so I'll pop it all in a casserole with the chicken stock from yesterday............be like a really chunky chicken soup.................lol

Not done too bad considering I had a morning of nothing much getting done except making a card.....................:T (pats self on back !)

I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

  • Hiya!

The weather here is wet and windy but at least we don't face the risk of flooding like some of the other unlucky people.

scuzz Hope your eye isn't too painful.

After dropping the girls at school I checked my parent's house was still ok, posted a few Ebay parcels at the post office and then did my weekly shopping at Aldi and Asda.
I've also had another sort out today and I'm just waiting for some charity bags to come through the door as I have 10 bin bags full of toys, clothes etc ready to go.
Tonight's tea will be inside out pizza (2 flour tortillas with tom sauce, veg & cheese inside and then fried) with potato wedges. Glad I'm not going out anywhere tonight as the wind sounds bad at the moment.
    Have a good evening!

6 months of DH being in charge has left my house in a state of disarray. Every night I either do a translation job or I do chores, but I just can't keep on top of it at all.

FM - Is DH not keeping his side of the bargain? - you cannot do everything.
I think you need to sit down with DH and get him doing more else you will end up ill, and that will not help either of you.

Well, I didn't get asked to go into work, so have stayed in my pyjamas thus far. OH and I measured the kitchen before, in preparation to find new units for it - it's very difficult as we must have one of the most awkward kitchens in Britain - we tried planning it on several kitchen planners and none of them have any kitchens anything like ours :) We have 4 doors and a large window to contend with .

I just looked at the EDF website, they have a list of running costs for appliances - my computer costs £420 a year to run!!! I leave it on all the time because its broken and when I switch it off it wont turn back on again unless I talk nicely to it for an hour. I am going to get a lappy soon, and based on that estimate it could pay for itself within a year.

Have just payed the electric and the phone bill, so thats £200 gone .

Not going to make any dinner tonight as we still have leftover chilli from last night.

Hope you all had a good day

  • Afternoon all
What a nightmare at work, we are back to a full team again, but at least 3 people have stopped talking to us. I'm not getting involved, I know I work in a school, but I can't be bothered with the adults who decide to act like children. I spent my lunch break dealing with a tearful staff member who'd been thumped by a child, we have a deputy head off with concussion & at the end of the day a staff member collapsed with a heart attack, this is the 3 staff member to have a heart attack in school since Christmas!!!
    Lets hope tomorrow is better.
    Hugs Hester

He tries DG, he tries, he is working as well from home and looking after DD at the moment and he just doesn't see it, he does the washing up and tidies it away - but he has a habit of putting big things on small things instead of taking the small thing out and putting it into the large thing, it's things like that - you can't open any cupboard in our house anymore.

Only 10 more days than I am a freelance translator and work from home mum and he is back to work and then I can get my house in order - you are right tough any longer and I would have probably gotten ill.
  • Afternoon/evening all!
Had a rotten sore hroat when i woke up. Thought it would go if I had brekkie, but it hasn't. I've had it all day.

Called into Mum's, but didn't stay long, as I wasn't sure if I had germs. She didn't look too good today. They've upped he feed to 80 ml a hour, and she's getting really bloated, and her breathing isn't good today.

I've got to stay awake as DD starts his new job today, 3.30 -10.30pm! Need to collect him, I don't want him walking through town on his own:eek:

worked hard today, hope I'm okay tomorrow.
    Pen-Pin---GREAT NEWS for you!

    Good evening everyone,

scuzz - hope your eye is ok, sounds horrible - if it doesnt get better you should go and get it checked!!!

PP - good news re doing your own tests, hope all will work out!!

hillstep - ((HUGS)) hope both you and your mum will be feeling better soon xx

Queenie - no, i havnt been using my pedometer, but think i might be getting it back out soon!!

Well, i dont know about the 21st being the most depressing day, but it hasnt been a good day for me. First, i had a bad night, and i have really felt it all day today, and then when LOs mum came to collect him, she had had her hours at work cut, so will have to bring my hours down as well, so from 3 days down to 1 day a week. Really has come at the worst time, as i still havnt replaced the LO who started school in September - trouble with my job is unless someone needs a childminder, there isnt much else you can do.

But, im not going to let it get me down - just means we will have to try and tighten our belts a bit more, things i had planned to do will have to be put off, and any overpayments to my mortgage will have to stop - we can eat and pay our bills, and thats what counts!!!

Have just made good use of my oven, while making our roast pork (loads of fat on it, but the crackling today was perfect!!!) i also made my veg soup, which is waiting to be blended and then decantered into pots for the freezer and a banana loaf from the old bananas - see im being good already!!! A good tip for crispy crackling ive copied from the Hairy Bikers - before putting it in the oven, score the top fat, pour boiling water over it and then dry completely - def worked!!!

Anyway, i hope everyone has had a good day, ((HUGS)) to anyone who needs one,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Well back again after a frustrating afternoon, my sewing machine decided it hated everything I was trying to do and the thread I was sewing with was c**p. I did eventually manage to get one table runner peiced together, its hung on the side of the wardrobe, had enough for today....

Just had supper, cold chicken and sald with a jacket spud and rice pudding...finished off the bottle of Rose we opened yesterday..........

We have also had a traumatic day in the building. The washing machine was leaking all over the floor this morning. The builders who are putting up our porch wanted to prop open a fire door to allow access to the building. We have enough trouble with people being let in without inviting them in through an open fire door. Then late this afternoon I heard someone banging on the door below us, I leaned out of the bedroom window, it was a fellow resident wanting to know how to get in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Really the powers that be could not run a !!!! up in a brewery, its laughable, no notices inside to tell residents whats going on, or how to get in and out of the complex, complete madness. We have a security guard on from 4pm to 9am when OH when down to the recycle room the chap was sitting in the sitting room, no where near the main door...............

I have personally decided that I am not going to fight the other residents battles, they can fight their own.......one of these days there will be a serious incident and then uproar, but they can just get on with it, I am abdicating......they can fight their own battles or sink.........

We are still waiting for them to come and replace a radiator in our bedroom, it was leaking and we reported it on 5th December..........no heat in the bedroom..........good job we have had rain and not snow, otherwise we might have ended up sleeping in the sitting room on the bed settee.

Plan a quiet evening in front of the TV, not sure whats on, but will persue the TV mag in a mo, I fancy just vegging for a change.

Slept quite well last night..........for a change, I am hoping my sleep pattern has re-established itsself and I can look forward to some good zizzzzzzzzzzz'z..............
