If I read, I always read selectively dmg, don't you? :D

I did contact Shop.com after they had confirmed the order by email: "I was introduced to your site via Quidco and entered your site to make my order via the Quidco link. I am therefore looking forward to the 7% Cashback being credited to my Quidco account as soon as possible please. Happy Christmas and New Year!"

They replied a couple of days later: "Dear Customer,

Your will need to contact Quidco regarding your cash back.

    Kind regards,
    SHOP.COM Customer Support"

I took that to mean that they weren't much interested in Quidco links.

The shop.com order confirmation email gave Tribal UK's Customer Service number which as I have reported, I have found to be useless and unanswered by any human, and I must admit I haven't bothered contacting shop.com any further about anything, because the next thing I got from them was the "How did we do?" survey and then the spam. So at that point I came here to MSE and started the thread.

In the course of the thread I have checked my credit card statement carefully and it would appear that nothing has yet been debited.

Having almost lost the will to live any further through this matter, I must admit I have yet to conjure the strength to call and submit myself further to shop.com customer service :p

Update: I've called shop.com and left a message on their ansafone quoting my Master Order Number and requesting order status.

The reason I posted was I felt that PB was reacting in that way because he felt that his points were being ignored or lost or the replies were not relating directly to what he said. I then responded to his points with my own opinion which is we use our own free will to decide what advice referrals to take and if there is a problem it is with the actual company you bought the item from.

I still want to know what shop.com have to say about all this. If it was me I'd be phoning/emailing their customer services until I got and answer and that is what I'd really be hopping mad about. I do find it a little odd that PB's main rant topic is quidco's involvement with all this and not the actual company who took his money without providing goods.

Let us know if you get a refund or the item sent out.

I think the customer services may have replied in such as way because they thought you were asking about your 7% cashback and not your order. I would email about the order asking what status it is at. I've a feeling it may not be in stock thus they have not sent out your item or charged you for it. If this has happened and not informed you it is not good customer service and neither is not answering the phones.

Did you have to create an account at shop.com to place your order? If you did you can most likely log in to see you order and its status and be able to submit queries about your order.

If you contact them again make sure you point out that you asking about your order not your cashback. I wouldn't even mention it just the order.

Even contact them asking to cancel the order if you no longer want it.

I think this place has "such a good rating to quidco" because people like me have earned £815 in the past year from them.
I have spent no more than I normally would to earn this money. Everyday thing like changing my house and car insurance and going through quidco netted me a packet.

I still cannot see what Quidco has to do with non delivery of your item.
Explain it to me like I am slightly backwards because I am struggling to understand.

I thought that you were going off on one because they had taken your money, but they haven't!

What are you moaning about? Cancel the order and get it from elsewhere!

Two pages of ranting when there isn't really a problem!

If this makes you lose the will to live ... then you really need to look at your quality of life pb!
    Gone ... or have I?

I see a pattern of abuse for anyone who DARES not agree with PB, i think you need to reduce your stress levels.

    I suggest the following

    http://www.diagnose-me.com/treat/T2556.html

    Calming Breath Technique

Here is one training technique that people have found useful when faced with a stressful situation or when feeling threatened: it is very useful in helping one remain calm and relaxed and is presented in three easy steps. Start with the first step, until you've mastered it, then progress to the next step. Once you have reached the third step, you will have learned the Calming Breath Technique. Once steps 1 and 2 are learned, step 3 is the exercise that is used daily or in times of stress.

    Preparation
Wear loose-fitting attire, if opportunity allows, so that you are comfortable. Make sure that you can breathe through your nose. If you have a cold, do not practice this exercise until you can breathe clearly.

    Step One
Lie flat on your back. Put one hand on your stomach, and the other hand on your chest. Relax. Inhale so that the hand on your stomach rises, while the hand on your chest is still. Exhale so that the hand on your stomach goes down again, and the hand on your chest remains still. Repeat for 5 breaths.

Now, when you inhale, breathe in so that the hand on your chest rises, while the hand on your stomach is still. Exhale so that the hand on your chest goes down again, while the hand on your stomach remains still. Repeat for 5 breaths. Alternate between stomach and chest breathing for 5 minutes. Make sure you've mastered this step before moving on.

    Step Two
This step combines stomach and chest breathing into one breath. This is the Calming Breath. Lie flat on your back. Put one hand on your stomach, and the other hand on your chest. Relax.

Begin by stomach breathing. When you feel you can't inhale any more in this manner, switch to chest breathing, until the upper part of your lungs are filled. Then exhale by chest breathing first, progressing to stomach breathing so that you empty the lungs fully. Repeat for 5 minutes.

Breathe slowly. If you feel dizzy, slow down, you are breathing too fast. If you are out of breath, you are breathing too slowly. Listen to your own body's messages. If you are having difficulty distinguishing chest breathing from stomach breathing, go back to Step One.

    Step Three
Stand or sit with your back straight. Use the Calming Breath and follow this pattern. You will have to count the rhythm in your head. Count to 4 while inhaling, hold your breath and count to 4, then count to 4 while exhaling. Once you've mastered this you may use a 4-4-4-4 rhythm if you prefer. It adds and extra step of holding your breath after exhaling and counting to 4. Take care not to hold your breath too long. Again, listen to your body. Repeat for 5 minutes, or until you are calm.

Practice so that the Calming Breath Technique becomes effortless, and inaudible. This technique can be used in almost any setting.

Explain it to me like I am slightly backwards because I am struggling to understand.

You are quoting me about this site giving quidco a good rating, I was merely interpreting what PB said. I did not say or imply there was any problem with the good rating that quidco has got from here.

Quidco provided the link and MSE provided the link to quidco, this is how PB's logic works. As I said it is like someone complaining to the yellow pages because they got ripped off by a plumber in it. The viewpoint is that it is somehow their fault for listing them, if they weren't in the listing the person wouldn't have phoned them. While most of us wouldn't think this, obviously PB feels strongly about this. He's entitled to his opinion. That's why he came on here ranting and I feel he just wanted someone to acknowledge his annoyance, not necessarily agree with it.

Just to clear this up in case anyone is any doubt, I am not saying it is quidco's problem but that is what PB was saying.

I personally think shop.com is the problem and moaning and blaming quidco is not going to help.

As PB's account has not be debited I think that indicates why he was mainly ranting about quidco, and the spam. Had the money been taken out I think the thread would have had another tone.

Cancel the order, complain to customer services, keep an eye on the CC bill to make sure nothing is debited from it and don't use quidco.

Oh don't spoil it masterkay ... we don't need any more analogies about the way my logic works! Give me some credit please for having gradually been dragged into the mire on this one. I hate having to use 0845 or 0870 numbers when I am paying through the nose to wait for some undefined period listening to completely insincere apologies about all our agents being busy, and I was almost relieved to find a bog-standard ansafone on shop.com's line this evening so I could ask for a callback:T
I also now have an aversion to complaining by email to a designated customer service email address in the UK because invariably one gets a late, incomplete and obtuse answer a la PayPal .

Thanks for injecting some balanced life into the thread however :money:. You seem to have perked everyone up a bit.

As for why I mentioned Quidco so often, well they got up my nose, and it was their link on their website I was following, not the plumbers on Yell.com :p

Yes I expect that is what I might have to do. I bet the item is out of stock (or was never in stock in sufficient numbers at the price).

What they taught me at school was to be polite, read and learn as much as I can and educate myself further than other people, so after 5 A's and 4 O's and a lot of other qualifications that I feel no need to go into I think im well equipped to shop online and do numerous other tasks.

I don't feel I need go into mine either save to say that my education was probably considerably ... and I mean considerably richer than y-aw-ours!
P.S I left school in 1986 so I'm not some young pup, maybe you should of shopped at specsavers first ;)
1986? I was a seasoned young executive driving a fully expensed yellow Vauxhall Chevette hatchback by then, my lad! And I got my first reading glasses from the 99p shop a couple of months ago thanks :p . The Boots lady who gave me my prescription after my free eye test said I'd done very well indeed to last so long without them, and that I didn't look my age (that was just before she led me towards the £100 a pair frames on the wall, which I politely declined :rotfl:)
