What Browntoa and now you dmg24 have contributed to this thread is just contrary nonsense of no use whatsoever to any MSE'er.

Banging on about how people must beware of anything they read on MSE until they have themselves read and interpreted all the small print relating to the offers promoted here and independently satisfied themselves that all is well is just about the most stupid thing I have ever read from supposedly experienced members on a consumerist website where people come for help and useful tips.

If you wish to comment further on my reported experiences with Quidco, Shop.con and Tribal-UK, why don't you instead tell us all something useful about why I haven't got my freezer despite ordering it after following a Quidco link, and despite Quidco's tracking database confirming that I did indeed order it and can expect cashback?

lets put it in simple words

1)your contract is with shop-com......take up the complaint with them or speak to your credit card company and do a charge back

2)the arrival of spam to that email address stems from the privacy statement in my last post

Quidco have nothing to do with the supply of your freezer

the toys from your pram seem to be all over the floor

Browntoa, I take it from the board guide message on all your posts that you are or have once been a life insurance or pensions advisor or some kind of financial advisor. I may have deduced incorrectly.

Whether I am correct or incorrect, I am 50 years old and have met many of that type. I can say that without exception as members of the genre, I have found them to be a slippery bunch of operators with a weird idea of what's acceptable business practice and what isn't, and a highly inflated conception of the worth of small print as a defence against something going wrong with a product they or their kind have sold.

Now then, if you fit that description, then we understand each other to the extent that no amount of sideswiping about toys out of prams or reading of (your highlighted) small print will deflect my warning in this thread about Quidco, Shop.com and Tribal UK as partners in some kind of multichannel transactional c*ck-up.

If you don't, then I am doubly baffled...So then, what is it of value exactly that you wish to contribute, now that you have kicked this thread away from the Referrer's Board into touch on the Vent Board?

because its a "rant" and not a referral

my point is that quidco have no part in this transaction apart from the cashback element

bit like saying its Yahoo's problem because you clicked an advert on their homepage to buy the freezer ??

I'm sure the lack of other positive advice in the thread over the last 7 days gives an indication that other members cannot see what advice to offer

I think you have hit the right point there, but for the wrong reason.

The reason I am still here is purely to showcase my own experience on the basis that anyone considering using Quidco tables of presumed cashback levels to deduce which suppliers they should use to order products (via Quidco links) might now wish re-evaluate that crazy notion.

After reading this thread, MSE'ers might be better equipped to form their own judgement about whether they should use nefarious Referrers like Quidco and Shop.com, or whether instead it might be a lot less hassle to avail themselves of the increased certainty of a transaction with a more reliable retail channel, like Tesco perhaps.

You are beginning to sound very sour pb!

It would seem that Martin Lewis would back up my point in his following statement:

This website is based on journalistic research. It does not constitute financial advice. Any information should be considered in regard to specific circumstances. All tips are followed at your own risk and should be followed up with your own research.

Please refer to the Quidco Terms & Conditions, which you agreed to when you joined Quidco, which explicitly state that "All matters surrounding the goods or services you purchase are exclusively between you and the merchant." The fact that you have not received your freezer is entirely beyond Quidco's control, and you need to address that question with the merchant.

Regarding how your email address wound up as spam, it didn't come from Quidco. Period. You stated yourself that you provided that email address to the merchant, not Quidco. And even if you had provided it to Quidco, our anti-spam policy makes our stance on spamming very clear.

I am the official company representative of quidco. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE

If you are not habitual mischief-makers, I think you people queueing up to try to belittle my observations should question your motives.

I'll say again, I needed a new freezer. I signed up for Quidco after reading a lot about it on MSE, and having read on the Quidco site that I could get 7% cashback with Shop.com versus just 4% with Tribal UK. Goodness knows how that works (and frankly I don't need to know do I?) but because the price I was given for the freezer was the same both ways I used the Quidco->Shop.com link like any moneysaver having learned of the wheeze on MSE probably would.

You know the rest. It is over a month now since I made the order and all I have received is spam.

My strong recommendation is not to sign up for Quidco, nor use Shop.com, nor use Tribal UK. Today I have wasted time on the phone to Tribal UK without managing to speak to anyone.

All three organisations have proved worse than useless to me, and Quidco's raw post just above this should make it clear that they couldn't care two hoots about you if you sign up with them.

Mine is a very simple message really, and unless you are a mischief-maker or have some other ulterior motive for dismissing my observations, it should be simple to swallow.

Disagreeing is not necessarily mischief making - people have tried to explain the process to you and offer suggestions of how you can resolve it.

Your OP seems to be asking for this, hence the responses. If you do not want advice or input from anyone else, you can ask the board moderators to close the thread so that nobody can add any more posts to it.
